Landing in Cairo...

I'll never forget landing at Cairo International Airport. Getting off of the plane... alone, and nervous. The First thing I noticed was the smell of cigarettes. It was then and there that I realized I wasn't in DC anymore. A whole new world was putting it lightly. People speaking in a different tongue, wearing different clothes. Complete cultural immersion. That was the beginning of the most beautiful love story I couldn't have ever imagined...

WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST HUMAN MEMORY?

My earliest memory has to be when I was about 2. I remember it was my family reunion and we were outside by the grill. I was so intrigued by it that I wanted to touch it. I remember walking up to it and almost putting my hand on it and my grandmother grabbed my hand and said "Corryn you don't want to touch that now, that's hot" and she carried me off. I made my way back over to the grill about 5 minutes later and put my hand on it and began to scream bloody murder.

Thoughts you Think

Have you ever had a thought you think? Think once or twice a day? this thought you think is constant, and it never goes away you think these thoughts not all the time, but ever seldom rare a thought you think you thought you thought I think it over there I think these thoughts up high down low  these thought I think a lot  I think and think and think this thought this constant stream of thinking thoughts endless, bottomless, needles thoughts... and what you ask in these thoughts do I think? I think that questions neither here nor there I think its time to cut my hair I think my toenails are to long I think oh hey I love that song I think I'm sorry oh my bad I think you think I'm going mad I think I'm thinking way to hard this thinking things gone way to far I think... what was the question again these thoughts I think they have no end I think its time to say goodbye no wait a minute we just said hi oh yes back to the thoughts I think ... I thought about my english test I think I tried I did my best I think he's cute  I think she's fat I think you ought to wear a hat I think ... no wait come back here please you asked about my thoughts indeed I think you think I talk to much  drink to much think to much! The fondest memories I've made in my adult life were right here on this rooftop. Listening to D'Angelo's Africa, sipping a Stella with friends and watching the sunset behind the Pyramids of Giza... Life doesn't get much better

Welcome to A Gal Named Grace...  Where  a gal (that would be me) named Grace (Corryn Grace that is) gives you a bit of insight on the world as seen through her eyes.
