âSuch is the price of the soul magic I wield⊠Iâve come to accept it.â He remarked as Agatha informed him how vividly she could feel the ghoulish hunger that churned in his gut. A half-scoff escaped him. âYou cannot. I have spent my life trying to stay out of my fatherâs dark shadow and yet, it seems I cannot ever truly escape his legacy.âÂ
Faustâs expression hardened and then slowly turned into a scowl little by little as his gaze followed around him to the glowing sigils Agatha had been laying upon the ground during her⊠conversation with him. When he finally brought his gaze back to the woman, he flicked his wrists lightly - out of habit - to which not even a flicker of magical energy ignited. âDamnit. Fooled like an amateurâŠâ He cursed himself. âHarkness, lower these runes this instant.â He stated firmly and solidly.Â

âUgh,â she rolled her eyes, âMephistopheles save us from the angsting of mages.â Why people couldnât just revel in their gifts was beyond her; magic certainly had more benefits than flaws, if you knew how to work it. âHmm, guess thatâs just you Hon, I left my familyâs shadow back in the Salem trials.â she chuckled lowly, a charred finger brushing against her brooch.
Agatha let the man get a good look at how trapped he was, there was no need to hurry now and she tutted quietly at his response. With a flick of her own hands a purple aura encircled Faustâs neck, tight enough to be uncomfortable but not to cut off air not speech, âLesson number two, be nice to the senior witch whoâs currently got you trapped within her protection spell. If you were really prepared youâd have a warding amulet or some crystalline protection.â She made a point of it now, after all, even Agatha could be caught out by this trick.
