do you guys ever think about how the director was built up almost like The bad guy for literal seasons. but the only person who really, really wanted to go find and kill him is his daughter. and when she finally finds him, every shot is very purposefully made so that he's smaller than her, after a season of flashbacks where he almost looms.
something about the way he looks up at her, eyes as green as her’s like a mirror. the way he stops her before she leaves him with a hand, the edges of his finger tips inches away, yet never quite touching. there’s no connection when he looks back up towards a monitor, his dead wife ringing in his ears, her image still burning into his eyelids. nothing but exhaustion when he sighs, “Agent Carolina…would you be so kind…as to lend me your pistol?” as though he’s not asking his own daughter for a gun to end his own life.
And in that moment, after he calls his daughter that name, the last remaining piece left of his wife, responds
“Of course, Director.”
