We (Tuckington nation) talk a lot (and rightfully so) about how everyone else met Agent Washington: The Merciless Killing Machine, wheras Tucker met Wash: The Sorta Lame, Very Human, Guy.

But, I think another fun aspect of thier dynamic is the Tucker that Wash sees and recognises. Tucker is so incredibly human to everyone around him, like the other sim troopers, hes funny, and generally a little non threatening, at least compared to the freelancers and mercs you may be accustomed to. And Wash sees that guy aswell don't get me wrong, he learns to be human again with that guy, they hangout a lot, but he also sees the Tucker: The Great Force to Be Reckoned With, wielder of a glowing fucking sword you do not want to be on the business end of, (funny personality aside)

Idk, its just another thing about them I love, like as much as we do a lot of explorartion of hands accustomed to murder and violence learning to be gentle and to love again about Wash, but if you think further, Tucker's onscreen kill count is the highest of the whole show. And in universe, Wash is the only, or at least the first to notice that potential.

For the pairing prompt thing: Smith/Bitters and “Rivalry”?

Smith being a large fellow manages to hoist Bitters over his shoulder as carefully as possible before slamming his backwards onto the training mat. Bitters hated it, not like he was actually putting in effort.  But the sheer power in which Smith can lift him, lift anyone. It some how fluttered Bitter’s stomach. For the brief moment of him over his shoulder Bitters felt the world stopped. Then came back full force. “You were day dreaming again, Antoine.” “I’m only doing this cause I have to. I’ll do better when I actually care to.” Smith smiles and laughs lightly at him. Petting his shoulder. “You’ll get there then.” Bitters was sure the only thing to label this emotion was bitter rivalry. There was no other way to name it. None at all.
