Delta smiled softly and wrapped his arms around her waist. "Hello, Rho," he murmured.
The young woman didn’t jump nor even flinch at her love’s show of affection. Touching was as natural as breathing in unison between the two agents, but what it did produce was a smile that spread from ear to ear, and a feeling of contented belonging. No matter the memories of her past which mostly resided just out of reach, Rho knew to the core of her being she had and would always belong at Delta’s side.
"Hello again my wayward heart. It’s so good to be whole again. How are you this morning? I am attempting to cook, so be prepared to run or get a fire extinguisher," she answered in a light hearted tone.
Carefully, she flipped the omelet over in the pan, the fluffy yellow exterior dotted with specks of green and brown from the peppers and mushrooms it contained. “Huh? Oh, I was thinking of having some tea out on the terrace while I finished my book. After that, maybe going for a walk and exploring. How about you?”
He shrugged, watching her while the bread toasted. “I don’t have any plans. It’s still nice sometimes to just… not have anything to do, even if it feels a bit unusual.”
She knew he was watching her before she felt his gaze. From the day they met, Rho noticed the way Delta constantly looked her over like she was a puzzle he desperately wanted to solve or her existence was the answer to a question he couldn't quite formulate, and she fell in love with him for little by little.
"You're right, being idle after being so busy for all these years is...jarring, but that just gives us more time to relish one another like normal people. There's so fear of our secret being discovered and the two of us getting into trouble. Some things are new and exciting. The mind reels at the possibilities, don't you think?"
