Hey, let me ask you, if you played the originals- actually, let’s broaden that to “if you’ve played any sprite-based pokemon game,” while you were playing it, did you think of the sprites as little chibi characters?

I know I didn’t, and everyone I’ve asked this question to didn’t either. I thought of the sprites as representations of the character art, but they looked like that because of the limitations at the time. I was inclined to believe that Gamefreak was thinking this way as well, since they were making the graphics resemble the actual character designs closer and closer with each mainline game. That’s the main reason why I don’t like it. Because, aside from me personally hating how it looks, it’s a downgrade in quality.

tl;dr: You can’t tell me that these graphics aren’t a step down from what we’ve been getting lately, and even what the last remakes got.

If you can enjoy it though, that’s fine, actually! Because I’m more upset that I can’t, since I was really looking forward to these games for a while.

OP has asked multiple times for people to not argue about the game on their post. They like the art style and you don’t, that’s fine. But they don’t want to have to deal with the arguing or criticizing in the comments. They just wanted to make a funny post about how they feel, they were not opening themselves up to discussion about it. Please be respectful and leave it be. If one simple post like this makes you upset enough to leave multiple paragraphs of discourse on it then you need to rethink how much this argument means to you.

You know what, you’re right, engaging with children’s media which can and clearly does appeal to many other demographics is ridiculous. People just shouldn’t talk negatively about media if it’s for children.

Anyways, it’s fine that OP likes it, we can agree on that. But personally, I think that if you don’t want to deal with discourse, then you shouldn’t make fun of people in the first place? And yeah, this does matter to me. I’ll say that there is a point where someone can care too much about something, but I feel like I’m well within that limit.

So, how am I a hypocrite because OP criticizes people who hold this opinion, I bring up a reason why I have the opinion and say “It’s cool if you can enjoy it though,” and then when OP immediately tries to tell me to just shut up I fire back? At the very least, that’s how those interactions felt to me. I’m sorry if I misconstrued that.

To answer your questions:

I meant it was ridiculous that you are arguing so much about a game that wasn’t MADE for you. The game is designed to appeal to CHILDREN! Of course there are going to be things that you don’t like about it and it’s stupid to argue about it with strangers on the internet who don’t even WANT to argue about it. You don’t like the art style but children do and that’s what’s important. Their happiness matters more than anyone else’s when it comes to this.

It’s hypocritical for you to say that OP shouldn’t have made fun of people only for you to go and then make fun of them.

OP responded the way that they did because people have been harassing them over this post and they just don’t want to argue with people. They have asked REPEATEDLY for people to not discourse on their post and you and others have REPEATEDLY ignored it. All they want is to be left alone about it.

If that’s the kind of person you are then that’s fine, but you need to make sure the person you’re talking to actually wants to have that discussion. People are really getting mad about the art style of a children's game? It wasn't made for adults, it doesn't need to have a fancy art style that "pleases a sophisticated mind" or whatever.

Is it the best art style ever? No, but its cute and kids are going to love it.

There is a significant difference in the amount of discourse when it comes to she/her gays and he/him lesbians. I have a rather organized blocklist setup and when I looked at my lists for people who outwardly admit to being anti he/him lesbians compared to people who outwardly admit to being anti she/her gays I was shocked. I was easily able to, without even trying, find almost 100 anti he/him lesbian blogs, and I haven't even finished going through the tag yet. On the other hand, I have struggled to find not even 10 anti she/her gay blogs and I have gone through every tag I can think of. The discourse so obviously targets lesbians and I am horrified.

This isn't me saying that people should be more anti she/her gays of course, but rather I'm trying to get you guys to see that anti he/him lesbians discourse is heavily based on misogyny. People see drag queens use she/her pronouns and support them whole heartedly, but as soon as a lesbian uses he/him pronouns it's suddenly wrong and lesbophobic.

The only thing I can say about Chilled is that he is one of the youtubers who are apart of the big Among Us group that all play together. So even if he hasn't played it with Dream, Corpse, or Pewdiepie directly he has played with people who interact with those three. Other than that I'm not sure if there's anything problematic about him

they're not hiding anything. this is a heatmap. its purpose is to show which counties are getting hit the hardest.

They're hiding the increase in cases by changing the number requirements for each color of the heat map. For example, red in the original one is for 2,961 - 4,661 cases but they changed it to 3,769 -5,165 in the second one. This means that even though the number of cases increased, it wouldn't show up on the map because the requirement also increased.

It's hard to notice at first, which is why they did it. They knew most people would only look at the map itself and not the numbers.

This carolalice person really has no idea how to talk to people. Nothing she has said or done makes me want to listen to her or agree with her. Do you not know what hypocrisy means? Librius set a boundary to not screenshot their blog, you do not have that boundary. Therefore, Librius screenshotting your post is not the same situation and not hypocrisy. If you did have that boundary and they screenshot your post, then it would be hypocrisy.
