Party for Two
Steve was never a fan of fundraisers, not because he didn’t believe in the cause, it was alway an opportunity for people to try and take a picture, schmooze, and try to make deals with the fellow avenger. All those feelings seemed to wash away when he saw Kat come down the stairs in her dress, his blue eyes never parting from her sweet face as he adjusted his tie on his navy blue suit. He watched as she gently walked down the stairs in her strap heels as he all he could do was watch every single move she made. It was like meeting her for the first time.
“You look beautiful” he stated as he took her hand and brought her close to him. “You look better than me in this monkey suit..” he chuckled as he placed his hand on her cheek and kissed her delicately on her lips. “You know if you wanted to, we could skip the whole party…” as he eyed her up and down.
Steve looked over his shoulder to hear Kat asking if she could take him to the dance floor as he smiled and nodded. “Excuse me boys, I’ve got a date.” he joked as he placed his old fashioned down and placed his hand in Kat’s as they walked to the dance floor. Her familiar warm scent of vanilla and jasmine filling his senses as her body hugged his on the dance floor. The party melted away when they were together as the music turned to useless muddled noise and conversations around them melted away. Her body flush to his made his heart beat faster, hearing it ring through his ears.
“If I didn’t know any better Katrina Rogers I would think that you are up to something.” he motioned as her silver eyes gleamed at him. “Its hard to believe that anything could pull you away from Nat, you two are as thick as thieves.” he motioned.
Nat had just made sure that she had everything for Jamie. Tonight was all about them and she was going to get her man and spend some much needed time with him. She looked good for him and only him, so why not play into this a bit. Katrina let out a breath as she felt the hard plains of his body connected to her soft curves. His masculine scent of oak and cinnamon drawing her in and letting the rest of the room fall away. Her fingers spread across his shoulder delicately as they swayed to the music. Her head tilted back slightly so that only he could hear her. “You know me too well, baby. However, that trouble is for us later. Juat know that I am all yours. Right now, I just missed this. I couldn’t pass up a chance to dance with my husband.”
She smirked gently “Don’t want you to get stolen away, do I? You do cut quite a dashing figure.” Kat spun away from him before coming back to him, Her heart was aching at how much she missed being this close to him. She leans up to brush her lips against his. “I mean Sam has threatened to steal you away a few times.” Kat teased good naturedly.
