Office of President Adam Benford
To: Agent Leon S. Kennedy
Against all statistical probability, you’ve been selected to attend the Presidential Charity Ball.
No, this is not a biohazard incident.
No, there is not currently a cult, parasite, or mutated tyrant hiding beneath the ballroom.
This is what civilians refer to as a fundraiser.
Your responsibilities for the evening include:
* Wearing an actual tuxedo.
* Smiling at least three times.
* Refraining from roundhouse kicking any members of Congress.
* Not diving through stained-glass windows unless absolutely necessary.
* Politely declining requests to “tell the zombie story again.”
* Avoiding mysterious women in red dresses for a minimum of one evening. (Yes, I’m aware this clause is unrealistic.)
Dinner will consist of food prepared by professional chefs rather than military MREs or whatever suspicious canned goods you’ve survived on recently.
Should the event remain explosion-free for its entire duration, I will consider it your greatest operational success to date.
Weapons: Officially prohibited.
Unofficially… just don’t let the Secret Service catch you.
I look forward to introducing everyone to the man who has saved the country several times yet still looks uncomfortable accepting a compliment.
Please try not to make me regret inviting you.
P.S. If your history allows a plus one make sure they know and understand formal attire, and that punching stone objects are prohibited on the grounds. I’ll be bringing a tinder date for the event.
Please send your RSVP asap.
"Well, this is...interesting."
Parties aren't usually his kind of haunt to begin with. Fundraiser galas with a black tie dress code? Even less so. As he re-reads the invite, he's thanking whatever god may be listening for the fact that he can probably rope Hunnigan into being his plus one for this shindig. Not to mention, it would give her an excuse to dress up, and to see him in something other than his usual work attire.
It would also be the first time she's seen him in a tux, so this was going to be an interesting night.
He quickly sends back his RSVP with a plus one, biting his lip as he frowns slightly. He's got no idea on where to start in regards to getting a tux for this, and he's fairly certain that Chris would be of zero help.
Shit, he might have to call Ada for help with this one.
