I'm definitely going to miss going to NASA events with Cruz. This one was just magical. We went to a screening of A Beautiful Planet. And like most events, ran into an astronaut. :) ...and like usual with no idea of who I'm joking around with. This time it was me praising the ridiculously large sodas available to a guy getting a soda next to me. I walk away and Cruz says, "yeah, that was definitely an astronaut." D'oh! One of my favorite things to do is to stalk...I mean, hang out with my mom. Mostly stalking. :P And some of the most memorable times are when I would be following her around at work. It meant so much to me, I got solo time with her, we could just be quiet in each other's presence, or it could be a time for me to learn things in a relaxed environment. So when I saw some of the kids of colleagues joining them in the office area, while my colleagues worked, it reminded me of my good memories hanging out with my momma. :) Sooo then I started collecting things around my apartment to take into work for the kids to play with if they became bored. Then...it was more than a couple things. I'd like to introduce you all to the Imagination Station. :) All kinds of fun can be had here. I had a blast collecting things and setting it up...and of course testing the different activities. 😊 I hope the kiddos have a blast! Or anyone that needs a stress relief while they work on the weekends. #ImaginationStation #Origami #PaperAirplanes #abcamblocks #SoMuchFun !!!

Ok...even for me this has gotten a little silly. MCAT heard the Apple TV clicking and came to the tv. I put on a new bird video and she watched it for a few seconds then turned around to face me (left picture). So I was like, ummmm ok. Maybe that isn't the video you want. I go back to clicking through the videos and she turns back to face the tv. Went to the video I suspected was her favorite...(bottom right photo). I swear to you, I have had a productive day and got some reading done for a PhD program application and did other things. I haven't been watching my cat watch bird videos...all day. Haha! Sometimes the simplest moments can be the most refreshing. I'm knitting and watching MCAT watch bird videos on YouTube. I feel like most of my life has been chaotic and rocky...so now...now I feel like I can truly appreciate calm and predictability. I know I won't be able to enjoy it for long, but for these rare moments of peace, I love. And I wish everyone, that has or has had a chaotic life, the same calmness and refreshing predictability. I look at my life and brag about how I can go home and relax. Ha! When people give me strange looks, I am always confused but then I realize these types of evenings can be seen as mundane or pathetic or just everyday life for most but...not for me. Not to my tired soul. I feel like I've been running my whole life or drowning. Grad school was like drowning in rough waters and peace corps was like drowning in rough ice-filled waters. Although I enjoyed both thoroughly, it was only because the life I had before them felt scary and endlessly exhausting. Now, now I feel settled and ready for the next challenge. So these moments will be savored and shared. My life feels "normal" and I could cry from just that thought. I'm 33 and I finally feel like I have some calmness and catch-my-breath time. Finally. Another wonderful addition in my life always reminds me of that movie Waiting to Exhale and the accompanying song. It wasn't until Remco that I finally felt like I could exhale. I never understood that idea until I met him. It's absolutely amazing the progress that can be made both in the storm and in the calm. I feel like all the growth that I went through in grad school and peace corps is equal to the growth that I'm experiencing now. Anyways, I thought I'd share some random thoughts. Side Note: the blanket I'm knitting right now is ADORABLE! :) #Calmness #BirdVideosForCats
