HOUND OF BASKERVILLES. 

I was very into glowing creepy dogs way back in early 2015, have no idea why, but it helped me go into a more soft/rash shading and lighting. I unfortunately had lost the previous program (on my old computer) painttool sai that gave me such beautiful brushes to create pieces.

I CAN’T TAKE HIM ANYWHERE. 

During my coping with depression, my ferrets were always my doctors of goofiness. Especially Trinity, the oldest of the three. So I decided, why not get two characters that brought me so much joy and share them to the world? I always felt if I kept going with this path, Duder and Major (clears throat, the greatest ferrets ever whom you see above in the art) would make it to the life of animation. Both would be saviors of the human world by hunting the paranormal, though it would mostly run into them because of their tremendously bad luck. Major, the coward of the pair having the worst time while his brother Duder drags him about to kick butt.

THE GLOWING SEA. 

I always had dreams about when the stars met the ocean, it showed hope though it always felt closed off and that anytime I could drown. Something so beautiful could be feared. This took me an hour and a half to finish as I listened to tron legacy and pacific rim to keep my motivation up with the colors. Using the soft, hard, and sprinkle brush on Corel Painter Essentials.

DOG OF WISDOM & TINY PLANET.

I absolutely loved this technique, having the sandpaper texture to mix gently along with the soft brush shading. The outlines besides the whiskers, mouth, and nose aren’t present to give it a more lively look. I usually don’t do this because my regular style is thick cartoony. These were done on corel painter essentials five which I had gotten with my tablet previous.  Neither hold a specific message, but were gifts to family and friends.

ANXIETY.  Since I could remember, I’ve been dealing with anxiety and depression. Thus having a persona for it, being an artist, how could someone have NOT guessed? A persona, typically a character portraying you shall portray my ANXIETY instead. The orange signifies the mass hysteria that runs through my my mind daily, not bright enough like yellow and at it’s climax to the downfall of red. The scarred and stitched glowing smile terrifies me because it means it’s permanent and that even when sad, you think it’s safe to say he’s alright. The jaw is agape and missing flesh because he cannot speak, when depression hits someone, people around them usually say they could not figure out the signs before. Depression is an illness, though makes one cry, cannot cry out - making the suffering unimaginable. The suit is the regular everyday man, it can stalk anyone at anytime making it the mostly deadly disease known to man. It is a wolf amongst sheep.

MR. GREY.  This was drawn on a broadcast on another blog of mine, it was motivated by the music of coraline and alice in wonderland, both having the tones of an eerie scene, which is how I cooked this little guy up. Representing the olden days in which grey was the only color photographs could pick up. When I see a picture from the early 20th century, I usually don’t get the feel of any emotion, no smile, no visible bright eye - just a bland whites staring back at you.

This piece I’m pretty happy about due to the technique of shading I had tested out during my odd sessions of seeing what photoshop was all about. Originally my art was made on either ms paint or a program titled COREL PAINTER ESSENTIALS 5 (some of my work will be on there because the calligraphy pen is outstanding to use and I find it very neat). I’ve done this character multiple times because the aesthetic of the stars really made my motivation for this piece incredible.
