hello everyone, just an update. im not going to be as active on here from now on. i’ve just realised that this site sucks really bad for my mental health and there are other much better places to spend my time. i’m happier spending more time over there than i am on here, so ill be posting less

it’s so weird looking at any media from the 70s-90s. television shows mentioned Israel positively. so and so celebrities went on vacation there. books were set there. oh look, musicians took their tours there! it’s like another world. there was casual Jewish representation and even sometimes Israeli characters. all of this is impossible now. it gets you cancelled as an evil Zio or Zionist sympathizer. Jewish and Israeli authors can’t get published. Jewish actors can’t mention their heritage, unless it’s to disavow it, and Israelis aren’t hired at all. musicians take their music away from Israel. I can’t stand it. this is progress? the goyische world hates us so much, they were just waiting for the excuse to cast us out again.

it's genuinely insane to me. 95% of zionists I know online and irl are the most progressive people I know - in full support of social justice policies, LGBTQIA+ rights, equity and inclusion, cultural freedom and expression, free speech, you name it. and yet we are the ones shunned and targeted by the left, while they gleefully ally with groups that are anti-LGBT, racist, sexist, pro-slavery, etc. it's the biggest con ever accomplished - convincing queers that Israel, the safest place in the Middle East to be queer, is the most evil place in the world, and that queers should have solidarity with Palestinians because their "struggle" is the "same" (which is RIDICULOUS; I'm queer and at this point i think a lot of other queers in the pro-Pal movement just enjoy feeling like victims of the world). and when they're confronted on the homophobia and gay-killings of Hamas and the Arab world in general, they don't care. they just don't care. they truly believe in cultural relativism, or more ludicrously, if Palestine is liberated/destroys Israel that queer culture will finally thrive. they will stand shoulder to shoulder with David Duke and the KKK because Duke hates "zios". i feel like I'm going INSANE.

Overview of some topics when it comes to drawing characters who are burn survivors.
DISCLAIMER. Please keep in mind that this is an introductory overview for drawing some burn scars and has a lot of generalizations in it, so not every “X is Z” statement will be true for Actual People. I'm calling this introductory because I hope to get people to actually do their own research before drawing disabled & visibly different characters, rather than just making stuff up. Think of it as a starting point and take it with a grain of salt (especially if you have a very different art style from mine).
Talking about research and learning... don't make your burn survivor characters evil. Burn survivors are normal people and don't deserve to be constantly portrayed in such a way.

it is deeply frustrating to me to see the many popular (50k+ notes) posts going around celebrating USA culture in the wake of the FIFA World Cup. not because I dislike the many great aspects of US culture! but because, apparently, it's 100% good and okay to celebrate loving your country which is committing cultural genocide against its native peoples, which has concentration camps in Florida and Texas, which is founded on white supremacy, which has a fascist President, where cops butcher BIPOC every day, which has legal slavery, and is horrifically corrupt... if it's not Israel.
why can't I love my country publicly? In spite of the bad things that happen here? why can't I say, I love the beaches of Tel Aviv-Yafo, I love the rich history of Yerushalayim, I love the public parks and the universities, I love our music, I love matkot, I love seeing all the lights on Hannukah, I love the sombre silence of Yom Kippur that's only possible here. I love my country and I love my people. I even love my local municipality for its consistent work supporting lgbtq and disabled people even if it still has a long way to go in supporting Arabs and African migrants. But I'm afraid to say so in a public space. I'm afraid I'll get called a zionazi, a genocide apologist, etc.
