Talk about a random headcanon.
Well it’s less a headcanon and more just, actual canon (due to Moo being an OC an’ all! ^u^), but Moo’s native language isn’t actually English!
Due to Moo’s origin as an alien human species, she didn’t grow up speaking English, or really any Earth language! (Crazy I know, aliens don’t all speak English? Huh it’s almost like America thinks everyone does, even in space I kid, I kid~) Up until she was around 7 years old, she exclusively spoke in her native tongue, before her mother decided she was ready to start learning one of the languages the Hoomun’s cousin race spoke; that being English, since most advertisement material from Earth was primarily such.
These days she rarely speaks in her native tongue at all, mostly because she’s come to realise no-one can understand her when she does. She thinks it’s just a made up secret code she had when she was little, but sometimes, when a word or two slips out, she feels a strange sense of loneliness; a longing for home.
This is especially true for the words ‘mema’ and ‘depa’.
