Hello Clergy!!!! I have been away from Tumblr for some years now and I remember absolutely loving and onjey your National Geographic on ghouls.
And I was wondering if there were more types ghouls in hell like:
○Light ghouls: mostly live in the desert/Sahara plains of hell and they move in tribes like nomads, and they follow the Sun as much as they can.
○Shadow ghouls: live in caves (their kinda like bats), they are nocturnal, they sleep through the day and come out at night to get with their lives, and they can not live without the moon in hell or on earth, (they have runes on their body that glow in the moonlight)
○swamp ghouls are a sub class of earth ghouls, they live in the jungle of hell, their much weaker then earth ghouls and most other too.

I made a huge guide back in the day for the elements and sub elements. It's suuuuuuper obsolete and I desperately need to update it. Thanks to years and years of world building with my partner (and @blacklight-ghoulette, because we write together so often! *waves to Blacklight because I use a lot of our collaborative world building lol*) I actually have a different chart. And it DOES include all the ghoul types you mentioned! :)

So here is a very rough updated chart, and how I included and write the ones you mentioned! <3
Note: Terms might be incomplete or nonsensical. I haven't gathered my thoughts yet to do a proper re-write with better vocabulary.
National Geographic on Ghouls
Rough Update on Elements, Sub-elements, and Mixed Type
The Main Elements and their sub-elements. Sub-elements are usually just a specific branch of a single element. Elements encompass different aspects, as you'll find in nature! Subtypes are more rare, but aren't necessarily a new element themselves? They are typically names just given to a select skillet of ghouls that aren't found in main tribes. Then there are mixed types, which is a rare phenomenon where NEW powers are discovered because of an understanding of blending parent elements.
Elements and Sub-elements:
~Volcano Ghouls: Live in the lava fields and mountains of Hell. Known to be more aggressive in their fire use.
~Sun Ghouls: The fighters and essentially warrior class of Hell. (Example: Ifrit. Alpha is mixed of both.)
~Well ghouls (Healer): Pure aether ghouls from the source of Hell's Aether (Hell's Aether Well.) Nomadic, rare, and highly sought after for their healing abilities. (Ex: Omega, Aether)
~Void ghouls: Almost extinct. Live in pocket dimensions and shadows called the 'Void'. They can completely shape shift and change matter. Bend reality. Bend perception. (Ex. Special, Miasma)
~Fortune ghouls: Also Nomadic. Are your seers, future gazers, fortune tellers, and those that can speak to the dead or other realms if powerful enough!
~Freshwater ghouls = Self explained name as you find these tribes in lakes and rivers. Are less sea-like in appearance and tend to utilize both land and water. (Ex. Rain)
~Ocean Ghouls = Live on Hell's shores and islands. Tends to have bigger teeth and fins. Strongest in salt bodies of water. (Ex. Mist and Tide).
~Deep Sea Ghouls = Normally this would be considered a sub-type, but deep sea ghouls have a completely different biology than their shallow sea counterparts. They hail from ancient ghouls and look the part! Some are literally blind from living in the depths. Their powers don't just extend to control over water or certain weather, they can break land and redirect whole currents! (Ex. Delta/Chain)
~Stone Ghouls = Ghouls that live in Mountains and work with stone itself. They are actually very tall and hard to take down! (Ex. Mountain)
~Forest Ghouls = Ghouls that have more plant based Earth abilities. They inhabit various types of forests and are known for their fertility. (Ex. Ivy)
~Plains Ghouls = A Mix of plant, stone, and soil powers. Your most commonly thought of when thinking of Earth powers. The most plentiful in Hell. They are the most middle ground of the powers, where as Forest and Stone ghouls tend to be more extreme into one or the other. (Ex. Earth)
This is the one I'm reworking the most and will be fleshing out with my writing partner and @blacklight-ghoulette (So please credit Blacklight, because she let me write my own based on her idea of the four winds! :) )
North wind = Artic like ghouls that live in high mountains. Closest to the ancient bloodlines of ghouls who had their wings. Pretty much just winter gargoyles. They tend to use their powers over their environment and element to use ice attacks. (Ex. Air, Cirrus).
South wind = Known as the storm bringers! While some think they are related to water ghouls (they aren't, funnily enough) they have a huge grasp on changing weather. (Ex. Storm, Stratus)
West Wind = Are the friendliest and more bird-like mannered air ghouls. Have mastered gliding without winds. Very pack oriented. Their powers tend to focus on actual bursts of air. So they, of the four, are considered the actual WIND ghouls. (Ex. Cumulus)
East Wind = (REDACTED) Because I forgot what I wrote down for them. Whoooooops.
Subtypes of Ghouls! Or Ghouls from very specific regions or skillets that don't quality as a complete sub-type of element:
~Swamp Ghouls = Water ghouls that have adapted to swamp environments. They tend to be more Gator like!
~Shadow Ghouls = A strange set of Quintessence ghouls said to hail from a Void bloodline. While they have the mixed abilities of void and fortune ghouls, they are said to dabble more into supernatural abilities than their Fortune forebearers. Some make a habit of working with souls and the dead! (Ex. Phantom)
~ River ghouls = utilizes travel and exploring other tribes.
Mixed Ghoul Types! Blended of two elements:
~Metal Ghouls = Stone/Fire
~Crystal Ghouls = Stone/Quintessence (they make gems and can use said gems to amplify abilities!)
~Light Ghouls = Fire/Air (Ex. Sunshine) Some of these ghouls can even become "lightning" ghouls. Others use light beams!
~Aurora Ghouls = Quintessence/Air (Ex. Aurora)
~Ice Ghouls = Water/Air (Some Air tribes have an ice power aspect, especially southern wind tribes. But True ice ghouls DO exist.)
~Ash Ghouls = Fire/Forest
