SO I’ve been following Houseki no Kuni ever since the anime was announced cause I was super drawn to Phos in their original black suit uniform. (I even cosplayed them!) It’s one of my favorite mangas I’ve read in a long long time! This original sketch has been sitting in my psds folder all this time and last night I finally got Photoshop back so I could take a crack at it.

A bit belated but a drawing I did of my boyfriend for Valentine’s day! We’ve been together over 2 years but I only have a few nice drawings done of him so I thought I might as well crank out another. The campus print shop was closed unexpectedly so I didn’t get to make this into a card in time. It has been a while since I have done any digital painting so it was fun to try it again.

I’m very thankful I was able to get an alright-ish scan of the Serenity piece before taking it to Otakon. I slept through missed the auction on Sunday so I hope the mysterious buyer takes good care of her! 

Princess Serenity’s dress is cobbled together from a vintage art book photo of Nike of Samothrace, so unfortunately due to the mid-century photography style it seems more gold than silver millennium. The flowers are from a nature guide book and I believe they are Aster? The background is a Ron Miller illustration from a book on the solar system from the 70s.

I’ve been watching Kare Kano/His and Her Circumstances and it’s already very dear to me. I love Miyazawa and her relatable personality and of course she is a Leo! It’s by Gainax and directed by Hideaki Anno so I was going to love it no matter what. I’m about halfway through and so far 10/10 would recommend unless you’re into more slow burn shoujo romances because it’s quite fast paced.

There’s a girl who goes to my school whose last name is Petty and she does sports and I like...want a jersey that reads “petty” so much. The idea has been stuck in my mind this whole time.

Aaaaand of course when I get back to the states all ready to resume drawing this my laptop charger dies and I have to be at my day job almost every day. My apologies for the unforgivable delay.

Sorry for the wait! I’ve been on vacation since the 24th and I finally got back home today. As stated above, weekly pages will resume next Friday July 8th at 7pm. I shouldn’t have any more delays except maybe Otakon weekend, but that’s a while away so I can plan ahead to have that weekend queued.
