Masi told herself she was stalling. If she tried to resist, if she didnât give Lara at least some attentionâ

Sometimes, the Thriae deliberately release honey sprites in targeted attacks upon enemy towns and cities, the fey equivalent of hurtling disease-ridden carcasses across the wall.
Itâs especially effective if nobody knows the âescaped captivesâ have been fully brainwashed until itâs too late to care.
