Me, doing my silly little crafts, trying not to fall into a hopeless abyss:
They also usually have free wifi. One of the few places you can use the wifi without being expected to buy something.
It is an unspoken rule that if a little kid is hiding under a blanket or couch cushions, you are required to comment on how lumpy the blanket is and pretend to sit on it to try and “smooth it out.”
Also, if you’re playing hide-and-seek with them, it is critical that you search every other possible (and impossible) hiding spot, all the while wondering out loud how they managed to disappear just like magic, before walking right past their hiding spot.
And if a baby starts playing peekaboo you are required to act surprised when they show their face again
If a kid hands you a phone, you answer it
If a kid shoots you with a Nerf Gun you are supposed to Die a dramatic death and explain “ugh you shot me blaahh”
when you push a kid on the swings ya gotta do the woosh
I literally just blocked about a dozen people on this post for being cranky about children.
Being a joyless shitbeast to kids isn’t cool. They’re kids. If you want to be Oscar the Grouch, that’s fine, but do it in a way they understand and explain it to them.
“I don’t want to play, I’m grumpy. Thank you, though, that was kind.”
It’s literally not hard. Kids are small people. Treat them with common fucking decency.
This. All of it.
sometimes a family can be a 60 foot tall sea monster, a blue sea slug that glows, a himbo dilf and the gremlin child that adopted him
This is a really good point. I don’t think libraries have ever been more important to protect and support. As a very popular post out there somewhere once pointed out, can you imagine if libraries were proposed today? They’d be tossed away as “social garbage.”
So yeah, support them and actually USE your card too. Most library systems have apps for ebook borrowing so you don’t even have to go in.
I’m glad that this post got notes. A bunch of book loving nerds, all of us 😉
Also, check what weird, cool non-book stuff your library has. Not just DVDs either. My library has a damn 3D printer and a laser cutter machine that you can use.

very big fan of when taylor swift fucking lists things like hell yeah distance, timing, breakdown, fighting! magic, madness, heaven, sin! vintage tee, brand new phone, high heels on cobblestones!!
A family can be a cyborg princess, the emperor of asia, a french farm girl, a wolf man, a girl who grew up in a satellite, a blind space pirate, a schizophrenic moon princess, her bodyguard, and an android.

disney employees are starting a full week of walkouts leading to their big walkout on march 22nd, 2022. they’ve asked people to not use disney products during this week. (no disney+, hulu, espn, playing games, watching videos, reviewing/blogging about any of their IP, no going to the parks). this is a targeted and timed action you can concretely participate in.
they’re asking people to also support by using those hashtags and to sign their petition in solidarity.

new year, new me💐
if you’re like me, then you’re most likely eagerly waiting for the new year, because it’s seemingly the only chance to get out of a slump or just overall get your shit together (spoiler: it’s really not). however, if otherwise your willpower has been weak and now at this time of the year it magically becomes stronger, take advantage of it.
this post will cover some things you should work on if you want to be hot and successful in 2022🧚

how to create healthy habits
first of all, do NOT rely on motivation. motivation is total bullshit, because it’s temporary. suddenly you have a rush of motivation and then you do all these big things and then suddenly you’re burnt out. it’s not a healthy way of approaching your goals. that’s why you are extremely productive on january 1st and then in a week or less you’ve already gotten back into the slump you were in before the new year started.
instead of going hard right from the start, go small in the beginning and then gradually increase how much you’re doing.
let’s say you want to start working out regularly - instead of making it a goal to work out every single day for an hour, start out by say working out once a week for 30 min. it’s still an improvement, if before you didn’t work out at all. and then when you feel like you can increase how much you work out, then do so according to your needs. this is what creates lasting habits, because when you get to the point where you are actually working out every day for an hour, then you can do it without any special effort.

self-concept
what is a self-concept?
your self-concept is how you perceive yourself and the world. it’s important to have a good self-concept, because then it’s easier for you to manifest and live a happier life.
how can you improve your self-concept?
affirmations are always a great tool.
self-concept affirmations:
manifesting is so easy!
my life is perfect.
i love myself.
everyone loves me.
everything works out in my favour.
visualise yourself having a great self-concept. eg you can meditate claiming positive energy, you can visualise being happy, or visualise telling someone life is being so kind to you.
you can also just think who you would be like if you had an amazing self-concept and then embody that person. fake it till you make it.
when your self-concept changes for the better, trust me, the world around you will change too. you can literally manifest anything in a millisecond, you’ll be extremely lucky all the time and overall you’ll just love yourself more. having a good self-concept is just the key to a happier life and isn’t that what we all want in the end?

manifesting your dream life
the law of assumption
the law of assumption (also called the law) states that your assumptions and beliefs create your reality. whatever you assume to be true, is true in your reality. if you assume you’re beautiful, then you are beautiful to firstly yourself and also to everyone else. if you assume you’re ugly, then you’ll be that.
you can manifest anything you can imagine. the only true reality is your imagination, the 3D is a mirror of that.
so, to manifest your dream life, assume your desires to be true. having a good self-concept will help you in succeeding in that
