So I finished Free! The final stroke last night and while I love the series so much overall I was a bit disappointed I. The last movie.

Mostly just because I feel like Makoto’s feelings go unaddressed. Like throughout the movie they show that Makoto is clearly feeling sad/maybe even jealous that haru and rin are going to places that he can’t follow and they never really have him talk about it with either of them.

Sure they have the whole “I love your swimming” reminder but it still doesn’t really scratch the surface of what he’s feeling or what’s going on with him.

Idk I was just kind of dissatisfied with it. Feel like the other characters feelings/dreams were kind of resolved or set up to continue but his story didn’t get like a real conclusion. And he’s my favorite so I feel like he deserved more.

Anyways, just needed to rant even though no one will probably read this 🤣

Also if anyone has any fic recs where this gets like remedied I’d love to read them. Or any fic recs in general.
