Another heartbreak.Ā
2016 awards season started with Stallone and Gaga winning acting awards. Itās only appropriate for DiCaprio to get some, I guess.
In case you havenāt noticed itās only Madsā fans who were saddened by the news of David Bowieās death. The rest of the world were rejoiced... oh wait.
have you no shame at all? mourning bowie, a known pedophile, fucking 13year olds groupie girls in the 70s? how would you feel if you were a rape survivor? all mikkelsen fans are disgusting! ALL OF YOU!
wow okay, this is unexpectedā¦
first of allā¦. that was ONE single audio post related to him I reblogged last night. I like that song. second, I knew next to nothing about Bowie other than that he was good in the one movie I saw him in, and that heās a pop culture legend? I havenāt reblogged anything about him after I read about his wrongdoings from TWO people on my dash. Iām so sorry Iām not an encyclopedia of everything problematic about celebrities Iām not even interested in.
I never was a fan, even more so after finding out more about him, but I realize this is a huge loss to the creative world. I didnāt want to reblog posts about what a horrible scumbag this person was immediately after he died, especially when all of my friends were so devastated about it. I didnāt want to think more of Bowie at all, because as I said I didnāt really know or care about him?
but okay, if youād like, you can construe me reblogging one Bowie song as condoning everything he did and me being a huge fan of hisā¦
also⦠how does this have fucking anything to do with me being a Mikkelsen fan? as opposed to me being an Oscar Isaac or video game or Caravaggio fan? smh
OK this is tumblr, and I most probably digging myself into a hole here.
However, David Bowie died of cancer yesterday. His body is still warm, so to speak. His family, friends and fans have a hard time realising it. His fans even more so because he had kept his cancer secret. His last album was out last Friday (and it was a good one).
Before starting throwing accusations left and right, groupies in the 70s meant having sex with their favourite stars. That was what they were doing. Thatās the very definition of groupie. I can hardly imagine aĀ heavilly stoned man with Bowieās attitude in the 70s asking the groupie sitting next to him how old she were.
Having sex with a person under the age of consent is statutory rape. Because the underage person cannot give their concent. However, Lori Maddox (because I think thatās the person in question) after Bowie moved on to Jimmy Page.Ā And her friend was having an affair with Iggy Pop.Ā
Itās 70s glam rock culture. Itās not part of todayās social justice.
And while we are at it, Charles Dickens left his wife for a far younger woman and started a libel campaign against his ex wife, was awful towards his kids. Terrible human, really gross. Never read Oliver Twist again.
I canāt believe now instead of sending an anonymous hate some disgusting people send a direct message, and then block you and canāt answer them, so fucking rude, just happened to me earlier, really I canāt believe it :/
Screenshot it and reply in public. Tag it too! Thatās what I would do to a rude message.
Robert Downey Jr. dancing his ass off on Ellen during a commercial break because he was bored and he liked the songĀ (March 8, 2006).
This has been around for a long time (see: this link) but this is better quality.
Yet again Mads gets 0 recognition for being the only actor who could ever live up to Sir Tony's legacy. Does no one realize how IMPOSSIBLE a prospect that was before he came along? Not surprised he's criminally ignored when the showrunners and production treat him and the character like an optional quirky foreign prop/occasional sex object in a show named after him. Good luck with your Hollywood/Europe career Mads and never go back to this network crap that did nothing for you for 3 years.
hooooo boy what did I miss, I donāt see anything in the Mads tagā¦. oh
ą²„ā£ą²„
to be fair he was only in this season for a grand total of THREE HOURS, so weāre probably being unreasonable expecting much to come of that :)
I watched bits of some of the commentaries for Lecter scenes, and likeā¦. in the parts I saw theyāre either talking over it to talk about something/somebody else, talking about how good he looks in leather or how naked he was, etc. Or about how a major Lecter scene was rushed or cut lmao (arrest/incarceration montage, Digestivo fight scene)
I was so disappointed by the S3E8 commentary⦠they hardly even mention Mads or Lecter (through like, the five minutes heās onscreen for) if at all. even though itās his first ever prison scenes xD xD exactly as it fades into that very first conversation between Lecter and Alana, Fuller goes āso hey Richard, how did you first get into Hannibalā
(during the entirety of the Lecter/Chilton blood+chocolate scene they talk about Richard and Hugh being covered in blood outdoorsā¦. āthe body double didnāt have as nice a body as Hugh didāā¦. okay)
that about summed it up for me. itās almost likeā¦. nobody really gives a shit about the character! #suchsurprise
yeah Iām super excited for all of Madsā future stuff coming up - heās so set for Hollywood thanks to Disney, all we need now is for him to do more Scandinavian stuff again. preferrably with, say, someone like Vinterberg, who couldnāt ever shut up about how strong and heroic and amazing and beautiful a person he is xD
and you know what? people always tell us weāre āwankersā or ādelusionalā or whatnot, but really, unless youāre a fan of solely Mikkelsen or Lecter watching the show, I donāt know if you can really feel it. thatās what I think, anyway.
For one thing, I have yet to understand how these awards commmittes work but a certain hateful fandom (not Hannibal) has brought to my attention that producers and agencies play an important part to the campaign made by those who want to be nominated and/or win. I donāt know if the critics choice awards is the same but I guess it mostly is.
That said, Mads was never a priority in the show itself. We very often discussed how Fuller hilmself in his twitter account rarely (if ever) praised Mads during season 3 airing. The DDLC account was as perverted as they come, worse than the average sex starved tumblr fan. Just imagine Mads being female.
exotic/accent
ddlc tweet about his naked scene
the whole fandom would be in uproar.
And thereās the way the writers treated the character of Hannibal Lecter for which the less said the better.
Letās take a moment to appreciate the fact Tony Stark killed a man over a Dora the Explorer watch.
I love this movie so much
WTH are these posts in Madsā tag?
Do critics understand Madsā accent? That is the question.
The whole āBryan said in twitter...ā is still going strong and people find no fault with it.
I wonder whatās next: books coming with auxiliary literary analysis essays from the authors themselves?
āOh you bought x novel? Youāll need this/these as well because otherwise you wonāt understand shit.ā
I missed the 2 hour long feature on disc 3 so Iām in the middle of that rn and wow Bryan is still complete trash
talkin bout how he had to especially give Mads his scripts days in advance because he had toĀ ālearn the languageā and understand it in order to portray it
The problem with Fuller is that his work should be shared with dictionaries among the native American speaking and foreign languages speaking viewers as well. It wasnāt Madsā fault he couldnāt understand what the hell it was written, it was the pretentious dialogue that made no sense either way.
Thereās like three or four roles where you just have one eye. Ā Itās starting toĀ be a thing.
āThere was something very natural about the 48-year-old Danish actor, even as he stood posing before the cameras, flanked by smoke machines. [ā¦] I watched Mikkelsen walk back and forth, patiently directed, cracking the occasional joke. Heās handsome and regal, I thought, even though, back in 2011, while friend and fellow actor Stellan SkarsgĆ„rd was accepting the award for European Achievement in World Cinema on Mikkelsenās behalf, he playfully remarked, āI donāt admire you for your looks, because youāre not good-looking. You have an āinteresting face.āā But this interesting face sports the kind of physical aerodynamics made for currency, royalty, the pages of history books.ā [x, x]
Iāve got to honestly say that all the hate towards Tony Stark and Robert Downey Jr. Iāve seen the last couple of days makes my love for both the character and the actor blossom! Itās strange. What tumblr likes; I dislike. What tumblr dislikes; I like.
