Alright I want to talk about Onyn's motivations real quick.

So unfortunately, at this point in the story, we still don't know what the "problems" are that have hit his hometown hard and caused Onyn to seek out Chikn to fix them. Or do we?

Let's look at Onyn's official explanation to Bezel.

So this tells us that Onyn wants Chikn to fix what they see as a hurt and broken world filled with people in preventable anguish and suffering, but it doesn't really tell us what exactly their issue(s) are with said world. And unfortunately Onyn has been pretty vague with the details in every instance of him mentioning his motivation so far, including the newest episode. So that's all we really know so far right?

Well we do actually have one pretty big clue right now as to what specifically they believe is so terrible about the world. Let's look at this bit from "You Can Expand Your Influence!"

(It's also worth noting that Onyn says things in the newest episode(Rest Stop) that very clearly tie back to the idea presented above)

So, Onyn wants Chikn to demolish the world's "current rules and systems" and replace them with something better huh? In our world he'd be talking about bigotry and capitalism's iron grip, but this is cartoon land of cute silly animals so. . . maybe they don't have those problems and he's referring to something else?

Oh what's that?

It's explicitly canon that misogyny, fatphobia, homophobia, the gender binary, wealth inequality, and greedy corporations all exist in this world?

Well then, that means that we already know that Onyn is correct about the state of the world! This isn't actually a question about whether the problem is as bad as they think, because yes it is, it's a question about what the solution should be!

This is why seeing people call Onyn "selfish" or "egotistical" bothers me so immensely. Because again, he is objectively correct in his view that the world is broken and something needs to change. And of course they hold this view. He's not straight, he doesn't fit into the gender binary, and he's neurodivergent; he's literally multiple minorities. So seeing the way some people talk about Onyn and their goal really rubs me the wrong way because ultimately, this is a minority attempting to get the seemingly most powerful being in the whole universe and all realms to fix bigotry and poverty. And I truly don't think that's unreasonable for him to do.
