Dagur presented Hiccup a lovely stone tub as a wedding gift. It took him a year to carve open and smooth the stone, but it paid off with how Hiccup smiled so brightly at him. He also cheekily carved at the rim:

What if in Family in the Edge, Dagur also wrote one letter for Hiccup where he confess his feelings for him? How do you imagine the letter and Hiccup's reaction?

“Dear Hiccup

You’re probably surprised why I wrote to you and to tell you the truth, I am too. But I feel like I have to do this. As I write this I realize how selfish I’m being. As if I haven’t done a lot of selfish things already. Gods, I don’t even know where to start. 

I know this is long overdue but… I’m sorry. 

I’m sorry for everything I’ve ever done to you. All those wicked things I did to you when we were kids, to recently. I know it won’t be enough- it’ll never be enough to make up for everything. But, know that, deep down, I’ve always loved admired you. Yeah, I know, I had a roundabout way of showing it. I’m sorry that I couldn’t say to you in person if you’re reading this probably means I won’t get the chance to. I’m a coward for telling you this in writing. I’ve always been no good at saying things like this out loud. 

You’ve taught me a lot of things, Hiccup Haddock. A lot of good things that I was stupid not to listen to until it was too late. I wish I had more time with you and tell you There are a lot of things I want to say to you, a lot of things I want you to know, but there’s little space this piece of parchment can hold. So I’ll end it with this.

I  Be happy. Live a long life. I love you. I hope that one day, gods be willing, I can meet you again in the great golden halls of Valhalla.
