like, personally I think she’s kinda just an evil jealous bitch, but it has been a while since I played AHiT, and I’ve never been good at finding lore (the best I’ve done is the stupid diaries in her manor, and using the Dweller’s Mask inside the wine cellar to see snatcher’s chains)

There probably is a lot more to her character, canonically and in headcanons, and I wanna know what you think! >.<

OOH ALRIGHT!!!

Well to be honest, even with reading her diary entries and such, it sounds (to me) like she's actually... deeply mentally ill. It reminds me of people and family I know that have felt silly over these same feelings, but the difference is that they were treated.

And when I think about the era that it occurred in, mental illness didn't have a name, treatment or acknowledgement. You were just... evil.

A lot of mental health issues that match her struggles occur in late teens or in your twenties (especially if you're AFAB). If left untreated, a lot of severe things can happen due to the stress, and not all of them you're entirely in control of... she lost her mother, likely her only family, claimed queenhood likely before she was even done grieving, and her only grip on reality (Snatcher) was at University. I think, with all these things, that the moment there was a misunderstanding with the flowers, she just spiraled... lost control. A psyche break.

But in the panels as he's being dragged away, you can also see something creeping through her, under her skin, like its overcoming her. I remember a Snatcher line wherein he expressed these changes happened suddenly, and he never understood why - indicating to me that she wasn't necessarily always LIKE all of this. Which, seeing as certain illnesses suddenly pop up in your twenties, kinda makes sense to me?

Obviously- NONE of this is an excuse for what she did!! Though I have a thought to believe she wasnt entirely conscious of her actions or herself when it all happened.

Anyway, this is all silly headcanon stuff I was just enjoying,, I just hope no one gets upset with it,, ^^'

honestly though, that does actually make so much sense! not just a “uhm we need a villain here have a yandere monster queen thing” but having an actual reason beyond that…

Yes there was stuff from the DLC!! Little illustrations of their life to how it ended! I was paying attention to more subtle details to see if there were missing story elements 👀

Yeah!! Though don't get me wrong, I know not everyone wants a villain with a valid reason for their crash out, but in my mind no one is born evil. So if there's a reason, I'm always excited to look for it 👀 and maybe make a fix it story.... that's the plan anyway,,,
