Now that I put these side by side, I could barely tell the difference… But left is edited, right is unedited. But this will be the base sprite for the MC for Tsundere-sama. I finally finished it! :D It looks totally different from my initial drawing of the MC.

"Her name's Kaoru, because she smells nice. She has really thick, unkempt hair. So far, she's like the opposite of your character: wild, unreserved, and very loud. She'll be your future bestfriend in the game, and the reason why I made her the opposite of your character is because of the tsun/dere gauge I plan on using, she'll help you be more dere -- more open and unreserved like her."
Kaoru from Tsundere-sama is done! She looks pretty *O* I also plan on redoing the sprite for the MC, just so styles look the same instead of them looking like they were drawn by two different artists.
For more info about Tsundere-sama and its progress, you guys can go check out the game's thread at Lemmasoft!
Tittle screen for Love is Blind
This game’s almost out and I only work as the CG artist. Check it out of you’re into idols and predatory handsome bishounen with snake eyes
Woohoo! Finally finished the main character's sprite. It's not amazing, but it looks okay. I'll hopefully be able to work on the guys later.
God, here I am again, starting a new game...
Anyways, we're still working on otoge-Real!, but very VERY slowly. For now, I'm working on a much smaller game all on my own (jk I doubt I'll be doing the coding for this thing) I'm calling "Tsundere-sama" for now. The title's not definite, but it still lets you know what the it'll be about.
Genre: Romance, Reverse Harem, Comedy, Slice-of-life
Premise: Tsunderes are such a popular archetype in anime and manga, why not play as one? Play as the main character (name still yet to be decided) and tsun your way into guys' hearts, as well as friends! But be careful, some guys can only take so much tsun and would prefer more of the dere. Work on curbing your tsun and dere sides and win your guy's heart! ...But it's not like you're doing it just for him!
Pretty much the unique thing about this is first, you get to play as a tsundere girl. Nice. And second, the game will use a tsun/dere gauge system. How much tsun/dere you'll be starting with depends on your choices at the beginning of the game. And so far, I haven't even given the protagonist a name, nor have I start on biographies or even creating the four or five love interests. So yeah, it's still a baby but since this is smaller, I feel as if I'll be able to finish this faster. Wish me luck.
I forgot we had a blog lol. Working on a character design for Mitsuru
astridquackenbush reblogged your post Yet another update! and added:
so exciting! watt step by step process of kazuki yone’s work???
This book! It’s actually a step-by-step drawing process of Otomate artists! If you can read katakana, you can read from the picture that it says…
What is the title of this book in Japanese? I want to get this.
Sorry about the late reply, but the book is called コミック イラストレーション ガイダンス! 乙女の祈り編
This book is actually a series, this specific issue is about otome artists.
Quick concept sketches. I'm just gonna try and get all these concept sketches done so I can move on and get this whole thing going. These are all temporary. Have to consult my friend first.
Also, I created a Twitter for our group. You can follow us here!
Believe it or not I managed to find the time to work on this. Hallelujah! I've also managed to become comfortable with coloring as well so hopefully the next few weeks, I'll be able to post colored sprites of the characters.
P.S. I don't know who this'll be yet. I'm voting for Shuu but he's not my chara so I have to ask the boss first. Any suggestions? (Also, I mentioned before making him a chara for re:Girl, ahahahaha not anymore I take it back)
Question for Visual Novel Devs!
There are two questions I would like to ask VN devs out there.
1) If you do paid commissions for visual novels, but it’s not your primary source of income (as in if you stopped doing them you would be financially fine), what is your personal reason for doing so?
2) If you do free work, but it isn’t your project you are working on, what is your personal reason for doing so?
3) Do you ever think ‘This isn’t worth the money/effort/time’? What action did you take if you felt this way?
1) Tons of reasons. To improve, to give back to the OELVN community, and to try and get my name out there. Getting money out of it is just a bonus for me. 2) Haha, somehow applies to me as well since I'm helping some people out. Because the person I'm helping is a member of my team for a game and they're nice. I just really like helping others out since I've got the power to do so. 3) Nope, never did. It was actually the opposite. It was more of a benefit for me (since I get to work on my art) than anything, just that it takes a bit of my time but that's okay, I don't have a life this coming summer anyways orz.
For OELVN groups out there looking for artists to work on their sprites/CGs/backgrounds/character designs, I’m offering really cheap prices (sketches are $1, sprite lineart starting at $2, and simple BGs at $10) so you guys can either send us a message here, or PM me (hiko27) at Lemmasoft.
I’m doing commissions mainly to save money for our VNs and to also help pay for my books as I don’t get financial aid for that anymore.
If you know someone who’s in dire need of amazing lineart (I’ve been said that my lineart looks really professional), feel free to direct them to me!
And in case you’re wondering, I’m not offering colored sprites or CGs as I haven’t found my own coloring style yet.
Please pass this around or reblog it if you can. Thanks!

Also, I'll try to take photos and translate the whole Kazuki Yone artwork process when I have the time. I seriously forgot I even had that book.
Excerpt from Kouta's route
Meru: “Uhmm… Ren?” Ren looks up at me for a second, and then glances back to his book. He obviously doesn’t understand how to hold a conversation! Either way, he seems like a good candidate. I better step up my game. Meru: “I was wondering--” I didn’t get far with my words when Kouta rushes in between me and Ren, almost pushing me to the floor. Meru: “GAHH!” I try and retain my previous balance, and stand beside Kouta. Kouta: “Hey Ren!” That was rude, what the hell!? Ren gives a slight nod at Kouta, putting a bookmark in his book and shoving it into his bag.
So we went on an indefinite hiatus and basically lost all communication with writers. We're recruiting all over again, and one of our writers is Sakura Hughes from Lemmasoft. She wrote the above excerpt.
With that said, we're finally back. Let's hope I don't get buried in all my homework for fall semester. A few updates:
We're slowly working on finishing the outlines. I never realized we had more outlines to expand on/finish than I thought we did, so that's more work on my part. I'm also selling commissions at Lemmasoft, so if you need lineart for your sprites or a sketch for your new character, feel free to stop by. They're pretty cheap!
Secondly, Sakura's really good at tempting me so once we release the demo for otoge-Real! (which will include about 1/4 of the game), we'll start a Kickstarter campaign. We plan on having VAs for this, both English and Japanese. We also plan on having the game translated, if the game's popular enough in the OELVN community. So if you know any translation group out there that translates from English to Japanese, and hopefully works in the indie VN industry, feel free to direct us to them.
And I think that's it for updates.
Man, I haven't posted in a while.
Anyways, yes, we're still here and no, we're not yet dead. We've just been busy with college (I never really noticed I was that busy until I talked to a friend about it) that we haven't had the time to do anything else. I'll be adding new things to the sprites (clothing and a few other poses and then coloring and we'll be done) so if you'd like, please suggest some styles or clothing you'd wanna see in the game for: tops/dresses, bottoms/skirts, accessories (includes necklaces, earrings, bracelets, hats, whatever you can think of), thigh highs/socks, and shoes. These are the categories I have on the SAI file and most likely in the game as well.
Hopefully that's all of it. With that said, we haven't had the time to clean up any of the stories for either VNs so maybe once we've got a few sprites down, we'll consider hiring volunteer writers again (so if you're supposedly a writer for us, you'll have to apply again, sorry). I seriously don't know who's working on which game again, so with that in mind, we'll either be putting re:Girl or otoge-Real on the back burner, whichever is more convenient to put off at the moment.
I think that's everything?
