absolutely losing it at the polar opposite perspective we get on darth vader during rebels. kanan and ezra encounter him and there's a dramatic lead up to the cameo and they're like "who the FUCK is that???". they fight him and lose terribly. at least until they drop several tons of heavy machinery on him. but then he survives! and then they're like "if that won't kill him what can?!" "not us. let's go!". there's no drama, no extremely emotional dialogue, no agony over the man he used to be and the monster he became. just "hey what is that? a SITH LORD? that sounds like 1-800-NOT OUR PROBLEM!!!" and then they go back to doing whatever they normally do

Kanen and Ezra and Cal seeing Vader like “oh hell no that’s not my problem” but Ahsoka and Obi-Wan and Yoda see him and go “oh hell no that’s in fact way Too Much my problem” and then right in the middle there’s Luke just bouncing around like “as my dad he’s kinda my problem but I wasn’t even alive when he started all This so I have no Feelings™️ about it anyway I’m gonna go yoink him back to light with the power of Knowing Jack Shit”

ooh like the idea of Rex being between Ahsoka and Anakin in terms of hotheadedness and passion. More passionate than Ahsoka, who has a good head on her shoulders and doesn't give in to her emotions nearly as easily as the other two, but he's not so passionate like Anakin. He doesn't start murdering when he gets mad.

sometimes i just sit and think about anakin and ahsoka and want to burst into tears. i mean, you’re fourteen and thrown into war and you have this teacher and he becomes your brother and father and best friend all at once and you fight and argue and make jokes and patch each other’s wounds and he tries to protect you from the horrors of war but it never really works because how can you save youth in the face of cruelty? but you know he tries more than anything so sometimes you’ll pretend it works, you’ll crack more jokes and make more sarcastic comments to make him laugh and you know he does the same. and one day the unbearable happens and you never see him again except for once, which is more painful than anything. you spend almost every day of your most formative years with this man and he haunts every day you ever live. what the fuck man

when ahsoka is an older teen and an adult how would you describe her flaws?

At least as an older teen, I think she’s really good at planning ahead and on her feet at the same time. However she sometimes lacks the patience when instructing other in high risk situations bc she already has the plan, she’s keeping it together, and she expects others to be on the same page.

who do we think was dumber:

dooku, who just outright failed at convincing obi-wan to join him to defeat sidious

maul, who succeeded at convincing ahsoka to join him to defeat sidious, then un-succeeded by choosing pretty much the only wrong answer to “what do you want with anakin skywalker”

I know Rex and Ahsoka liked to piss each other OFF every chance they got especially when Ahsoka was new like she'd be sitting in the mess hall hands on the table in a bad mood already for God knows what and Rex walks in and sits an inch too close to her. And puts his hands on the table to copy her. And she LOSES IT

i’m sorry but ahsoka saying “i’m tired of fighting” shatters my soul. this line hits me as hard as her saying, “as a jedi, we were trained to be keepers of the peace, not soldiers. but all i’ve been since i was a padawan is a soldier.”

I see this trailer and I think less along the lines of ‘Anakin’s darkness is what saves Ahsoka’ and more along the lines of she had to survive his darkness as Anakin, and that is what taught her to survive his darkness as Vader.

She was the student of the chosen one and she loved him, and she was right to, but even Anakin at his best had his demons, and on some level, as much as she tried to dismiss them (‘he is like no other jedi!) she always knew a darker side of him was there.

She survived his teaching, so she survived his treachery

Y’all we cannot be surprised at all seeing how intensely Anakin trains with Ahsoka, and how intense her overall training is. But seeing it? Like actually happen? And not just the after effect where we see her out in situations and come out on top? Love that for us!
