Doremi can be a bit down on herself sometimes so I considered an “It’s A Wonderful Life” scenario of the show in which Doremi never existed, just as something interesting to think about. I may have missed a few things, but here’s what I came up with (some ***spoilers*** here, and also maybe it gets a bit darker than you want to associate with Ojamajo Doremi in which case maybe this post is worth skipping)
Majo Rika never becomes a Witch Frog (I mean it’s probably inevitable, but at least Doremi never catches her)
Hadzuki never befriends Doremi so she continues to dislike the violin
Neither Aiko nor Hadzuki become Witch Apprentices
Doremi’s Mom continues to be depressed about not being able to play piano (in the worst case she takes her life, Pop is never born)
Onpu continues as a witch apprentice, but likely ends up never making friends and falling into a 100 year sleep*
Momoko would never get another chance at becoming a witch apprentice (If there even is a vote, which is doubtful since Momoko straight up broke the rules instead of just breaking her sphere, Majo Heart would probably vote no which would break the tie)
Momoko would probably have a much harder time making friends in Japan (I’d like to think Aiko would still befriend her, but they’re in different classes and not fellow apprentices so they might not even meet. Ultimately I think she’d have a lonely few years before happily moving back to America and Beth)
No one successfully reaches out to Nagato
Most of the many day to day problems with classmates and various witches would probably be unresolved (not going into literally every side character)
Bad cards would not have been sealed as soon as they did, and Oyajiide would be spending a whole lot more time in that laptop (also all the bad cards would still be causing problems, the steak house would close, etc.)
Definitely possible that the wizard world is never restored, but honestly that entire conflict is based on a misunderstanding of what the wizard king wanted so it may have been resolved regardless. Even without the Ojamajos to save Hana, surely the wizard king would return her
Hana may or may not be raised by humans, she’ll have all the same powers so she’ll still be targeted by the witch queen of two reigns ago, probably won’t be saved
No one will save Majo Tourbillon and the curse of the Witch Frog will continue, pushing back the reintroduction of witches to humans even further
*I suppose it’s possible Rika would still lose the Mahou Do to Ruka, in which case Ruka would never get caught and Onpu would never become a witch apprentice so she would not have the chance to break the rules and go into a 100 year slumber. That would also mean that everyone in town would have to deal with a witch selling them cursed merchandise. I didn’t include this because I’m not sure if Rika would necessarily be gambling away the rights to her property if she wasn’t burdened financially by three expensive Ojamajos, but I wouldn’t put it past her. Whatever, this was just something fun to think about, I don’t want to get too into the weeds.
