First I saw the above image, and I was, still am, what a heck is this: the Sopranos costumes that those two wanted to go for Halloween? A 70s revival seeing that all the big fashion houses are doing it? The stylist was a fan of Miami and wanted a combination of Miami Vice(the show) and Birdcage?Â

I liked the melody, the tune is catchy and the bass insane.Â
The lyrics, not so much-I had a hard time in understand them, you can see from that moon, that Alex Turner input was minimal For some reason I couldnât stop thinking at Kaneâs collaboration with Professor Green. Also I was getting a Johnny Cash âGod's Gonna Cut You Downâ vibe
The whole video made me see this second album, more like a friends project, something that they come up in their spare time, in the garage.Nothing serious, nothing too heavy. Until I went on Spotify and saw Domino Records I thought that there is no music label involved.
The video its a typical Ben Chappell video and in a way goes also with Turnerâs tastes (there are a lot of references in his songs about it, even if he barely spoken about):noir, early â90s influences and Italian cinematography. Its sexy and dark and a drugs induced atmosphere.Â
Taylor Bagley fills up the dream of any rockstar girlfriend:she is the present muse(she didnât managed with the previous boyfriend). I still think she is shallow and pretentious, but she makes me laugh so she is OK, and I kinda feel sorry for her:in this video Alex shows Miles more love then her.
Conclusion: I donât know if I would have looked into it if I wouldnât had know Arctic Monkeys and the previous album. If they wanted to make it popular they need to come up with something else. Visually and lyrically. Even if Turner wants to forget the tag âthe best lyricist of his generationâ, and how mainstream he became after AM. Maybe Miles offers him the support for that. And the general consent is that this song is all about:a Miles Kane frontman.
People also should stop to say that this album is the reason for the lack of a 6th Arctic Monkeys album. The 4 babies that the members of this band share look like a better reason.
