My focus is more on the magic of the intangible yet felt aspects, like Love, Service, Devotion. Focus, Loving Kindness, Determination, etc. A notion of working "in" as well as working "out"..... You are invited to join me tonight 630pm at #bhaktiyogashala for devotional singing of one of my all time absolutely favorite song /bhajan by poet and seer extraordinaire Tulisdas. Tulsidas was acclaimed in his lifetime to be a reincarnation of Valmiki, the composer of the original Ramayana in Sanskrit. He is also considered to be the composer of the Hanuman Chalisa, a popular devotional hymn dedicated to Hanuman, the divine devotee of Rama. Tulsidas was invited by Mughal Emperor Akbar in his court to display his magical powers after hearing a lot about the poet from Khan-e-Khana Rahim and Toder Mal. When Tulsidas declined, he was imprisoned. It was during this time in prison Tulsi Das started writing Hanuman Chalisa. It is said that on the 40th day, the entire Fatehpur Sikri was surrounded by giant monkeys. They even entered the palace premises and started hurting the guards. So much mess these animals created that someone advised Akbar to free Tulsidas. The moment Tulsidas was released, the monkeys went, clearly indicating that Lord Hanuman came to the rescue of Tulsidas. (at Bhakti Yoga Shala)
