[romance, strangers to lovers, love at first sight(?), lowk crack and fluff.]
if your dad never told you to fill in that day, would you still have met? Or would you meet eyes across a random street, shrugging it off? This wasn't just an ordinary encounter with an so called 'cowboy', it was surely love. right?
heavy graphic scenes, swear words, sensitive jokes (may be added more)
You hear the soft tingling of the bell above the door as you walk inside, the warm smell filling in your senses. Gosh, it's been long since you came in here. Your dad already told you what you have to do, greet customers, and fill in the shelves. Should be easy.
While thinking about what you'll do tomorrow, you start getting to work. But honestly, there's a lot more to do then you imagined before you. A ton of boxes all piled up in a corner, waiting to be opened and discovered. But still, you're determined to finish early so you could have some free time.
Humming a melody, you begin walking back and forth, occasionally greeting or helping a customer wandering in. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't nice. You were just happy you were getting paid.
You were almost done with everything, and you decided to take a short break. And of course, it was nothing but short, but you worked hard so you told yourself you deserved it. While scrolling on tiktok, you came across your friend's video.
She was talking excitedly about this.. comeback? Enhypen? She had this thing for unknown stuff. You shrugged it off and quickly went back to work. Why would you care about her interests, she watched a whole documentary about why dolphins are apparently worse than sharks.
Everything was finished, shelved and in place. You were proud of your work, and took a glance at the time. You still had to stay for about an hour. So, as everyone would do, you found a place in the corner and made yourself comfortable while doing absolutely nothing.
Luckily there weren't a lot of customers coming in, so you didn't have to be in an awkward position while greeting them.
But then, you heard someone come in. Well, at this rate they could've also just announced it. They were talking about a shoot, and how it's going to be awesome and he can't wait for the album to be finished.
Your curiosity won and you took a glance over to see who it is, and you were taken aback to see a..cowboy?
No, he doesn't look like a cowboy. More like cosplaying as one, but why would he do that? It wouldn't make sense, right?
He was still going on about this shoot, walking around the store, looking for something. But after 2 circles, he realises it isn't here. So of course, you go up to help him find what he's searching for.
''Excuse me, sir. Do you need help finding anything?'' You ask him politely, and from up close you realise how handsome this man actually is. But you focus on getting him what he wants for now.
He scratches his head. ''Well, I'm supposed to have a shoot here, today. They said that the rest would be here but,'' he looks around with a confused expression plastered on his face. ''There is no one.''
A shoot, today? Your father didn't say anything about that though. That same curiosity as before spikes up again. ''A shoot, I didn't hear anything about a shoot for today. Are you sure you're at the right place?''
He shrugs his shoulders, looking a bit lost and less confident than he did when he walked in here. You kind of felt bad, since he had looked really excited, which he doesn't really do anymore.
You were a bit tired, and didn't really notice him staring at you. Trying to figure something out, maybe? He looked rather confused than intruged.
''Well, the only thing I can do for you is contact you if there happens to show up some people here. But that's only if your comfortable with sharing your contact number.'' You were surprised by how formal you sounded. You were almost sounding like you had more than 1 day experience.
Slowly, he reaches out for his phone, quietly and internally deciding that he will agree. And after exhanging numbers, he still lingers in the shop for a moment.
Of course, your eyes drift to him sometimes. You can't help it, he is a really handsome guy. But you are still confused about the shoot and all.
When he finished up and buys his stuff, your eyes meet one time. You can feel the intensity in his gaze, and your the first one to break the contact. Without looking back, you softly walk to the back to get ready to leave as the sound of the bell ringing chims behind you.
