Welcome to Ailurocide, formerly known as Old Faces, New Dawn!
Drawing heavy inspiration from the works of many Warriors rewrites (@bonefall | @troutfur | @cats-of-eden-valley), alongside published works such as Guardians of Ga’hoole, Wings of Fire, Fallout, Game of Thrones, as well as Warriors, Felidae, and Tailchaser’s Song, Ailurocide has, over the years, evolved into an independent story and universe.
Inspired especially strongly by Warriors’ messy canon material, Ailurocide attempts to acknowledge, handle, and guide these themes in a far better manner. The darker topics overseen in this narrative can be found HERE, but featured within the story itself are: Unique Lore, Solid Characterizations, Casual Representation, Fantasy Elements, Fantasy Cultures and Religion, Solid Naming Mechanics, amidst much more!
You can call me Spotty! I’m a 20-year-old disabled trans man, using he/him pronouns exclusively.
If you enjoy my work at all and are able to help out, please consider buying me a Kofi!
Blood Spilt, Blood Shared, Blood Spurned by Blood… Braved by a blaze that may burn it all away.
I’ve got three groups whose names are compound words, and I need just one more…
For example, we’ve got “waterfall” (who are a group centered around water; half of the territory they occupy is made of a lake, rivers, streams, and a waterfall ofc), “cliffside” (who live in the mountainous area in this territory), and “lowland” (who live in a rocky field between these two)… but now I need one more.
The territory this group occupies is mostly swamp on the ground, but very dense with trees, to the point that it’s very dangerous for these guys to be closer to the ground as it’s so dark and murky and they don’t know what might be lurking, so they move from branch-to-branch. I thought “bogwood” might be good at first, and played around with “quagmire”, but neither felt right…
So any suggestions would be WONDERFUL and so so welcome!! <3
Wrongfully accused of a haunting crime and then forced to flee the only home he had ever known, Lute finds himself at the heart of the world of the “monsters” who haunted his cubhood horror stories… only for the occupants of the Vibrant Vale to prove themselves far kinder than anyone he had encountered before – and far more desperate as well, as this new world came equipped with more danger, intrigue, magic, and death than Lute had ever known… All of which was then placed upon his shoulders to fix in the wake of turmoil after turmoil, on the basis of words of the deified dead long past. Begged to leave once more, this time to chase more nursery tales while equipped with new goals, new knowledge, and new companions, Lute steels himself with a promise to both himself and those now depending on him to find a way to fix what he had never broken… But such promises weigh heavy on such young shoulders, especially as the secrets unveiled grow increasingly grander, until Lute finally must ask himself, torn in the wake of repeated betrayals: Save his friends, or save the world?
Welcome to Ailurocide: a slow-to-update story initially inspired by the Warriors series by Erin Hunter, lending themes from other fantastical animal works such as Watership Down by Richard Adams, Tailchaser’s Song by Tad Williams, the Wings of Fire series by Tui T. Sutherland, and the Guardians of Ga’hoole by Kathryn Lasky, alongside the Fallout games.

When I invision Ailurocide I see it as a ocean of muddy brown and blood red, with strikes of gold or amber breaking through the sea of blood. I wasn't sure if I could describe it properly so I made a drawing :D
Not fully accurate to how I invision it, but close.
This won’t really affect the order in which they come out, but I am curious:
What are you most excited to see in this next (hopefully final!) version of Ailurocide?

( The questions were too long, so see below for specifics! ^^' )
[A] ― The history of Ailurocide's broader world: How radiation altered the earth, why it happened, and the (fantastical) specifics of the resulting creatures that now roam.
[B] ― Character introductory sheets and accompanying art (main characters first (primary protagonists and antagonists) then secondary supporting characters as they're asked for; the villain will be kept as a surprise for as long as I can get away with).
[C] ― Maps! Of the wider territories, to detail the whole of where the story will follow, and of smaller spaces such as a detailed look of The Vale, the Crowned Coast and Mountains, small towns in the Outlands, etc etc etc.
[D] ― The creators of the Aerth, and the few divinities (gods) that remain.
[E] ― Daily life functions for those of the Fealty of the Vale and Coast (as well as potentially other groups if enough intrigue is shown!).
[F] ― General decor for various characters based on where/how they grew up (especially for the Vale Fealty and the fairleads!).
[G] ― The actual story, plot beats, and writing.
That's all for right now; I just wanted to see where everyone's excitement was at for our current "beginning again" status!
Idk how to like….. start things off on the other blog :0
I have the basic plot in my mind, so that’s done… and I promised I’d start sharing world building and characters in the aftermath of that getting settled so..
I’m just at a loss for where to start solidly! I may borrow from @/doritopaw101’s way of setting up Trails, or maybe from @/feliniakattus…. We’ll see!!
