Hmmmn Flambae’s reaction to another Dispatcher giving Robert something he me allergic causing an reaction
The agonizing sound of Robert choking and coughing over the comms would probably haunt Flambae’s memories and nightmares for a long time.
He and the rest of the team cut off their side conversations the second Robert’s coughing fit started, barely five minutes after he came back from his lunch break. At first they assumed it would pass after a few seconds. It didn’t.
Instead, confusion only grew worse when Chase’s voice suddenly burst through the communication channel, shouting for help, followed by a chaotic overlap of voices that no one could make sense of.
Flambae was already flying toward a mission site when he abruptly turned mid-air, becoming nothing more than an orange blur streaking across the sky as he pushed himself to fly as fast as possible toward the SDN building.
He was spiraling so hard into panic and anxiety during the flight that he barely registered the rest of the team also reacting with concern over the comms. As he crossed the skies over Torrance, Flambae was already secretly blaming himself for not being there when Robert needed him.
Even so, when he landed and stormed into the company building, he couldn’t fully put out the fire. Without fully noticing it, faint flames kept flickering across his torso as he hurried inside.
“Does anyone have news about Robert?” he asked over the comms, his voice almost shaking.
“Royd took him to the infirmary. I’m here too.” Prism replied, giving him at least a bit of reassurance.
Flambae was too distressed to ask for details over the radio. He needed to get there and see with his own eyes that his boyfriend was okay.
The walk to the elevator felt endless. He kept pressing the infirmary floor button over and over as if that could somehow make the descent faster. When the doors finally opened, he found Prism, Chase, Royd, and a couple of other employees waiting nearby.
“Where is he?”
By now, Flambae had to force the words past the tight knot of anxiety in his throat.
Prism stood and walked toward him, gesturing at the flames and asking him to calm down.
“He’s okay now, alright? It was an allergic reaction, but they already gave him epinephrine. He’s recovering…” Prism explained, and the flames slowly began to subside.
“What happened? What did he eat? What–” Flambae’s sentence died midway as he stared at Prism, lost.
“Miles and Robert shared a pistachio dessert, and–”
Prism never got to finish. At the sound of the other dispatcher’s name, flames flared up again along Flambae’s torso as he spun on his heel.
Miles was one of the employees sitting in the waiting area. And now Flambae was striding straight toward him.
For a few seconds, Flambae grabbed Miles by the collar and lifted him slightly before Royd intervened, pulling Miles away.
“You son of a bitch!” Flambae shouted, pointing at him. “Didn’t you know he’s allergic?”
Even through the anger, Flambae kept his powers under control when Prism grabbed him too, preventing the fight from turning physical.
“I–I swear I didn’t know… I didn’t mean–” Miles’ voice came from behind Royd, who stood firmly between him and Flambae. “I’m so sorry…”
“Hey, hey, Bae. He didn’t mean to.” Prism tried again.
It didn’t work. Flambae kept struggling, trying to catch another glimpse of Miles just so he could keep yelling at him. What finally snapped him out of it was one of the paramedics raising her voice to say that Robert could receive visitors.
This time Prism couldn’t hold him back. Flambae turned and hurried across the room toward the open door of Robert’s hospital room, determined to get there before Chase could complain and insist on going first.
But the moment Flambae saw him, the relief he had expected never came.
Seeing his boyfriend lying in bed with swollen, reddened lips and face, blotchy arms, and damp hair stuck to his sweaty forehead did nothing to ease the crushing pressure behind Flambae’s ribs.
Robert’s reddened eyes met his. A faint, almost imperceptible attempt at a smile tugged at his swollen lips.
“Go ahead. Say I look like shit.” Robert’s voice came out so broken and hoarse it made Flambae want to scream and cry.
Flambae stepped closer and stopped beside the gurney.
“I wasn’t going to say that.” he murmured, looking him over.
“I know I look like shit right now…” Robert continued, clearly forcing the words out.
“No.” Flambae shook his head, shifting awkwardly beside the bed. “Don’t joke about that. Save your throat.”
“It doesn’t hurt.” Robert rasped almost soundlessly, though the slight grimace on his face betrayed him.
He raised one hand to scratch at the red patches on his arm, but Flambae quickly stopped him, catching his hand.
“Don’t. It could get worse.” Flambae said.
Normally that kind of line would come out as a teasing order. This time, it sounded like a quiet plea. He needed to see Robert getting better, not worse.
Robert made a small, stubborn pout, but then he laced his fingers with Flambae’s.
Flambae took a deep breath, trying to let himself calm down now that he knew Robert was safe — as safe as he could be.
He still hated what the allergic reaction had done to him.
He still hated the way every breath seemed to hurt Robert’s whole body.
He hated even more that he hadn’t been there sooner. That maybe he could have prevented it.
“Fuck… I was so scared…” Flambae exhaled softly.
“I’m fine now.” Robert murmured, careful not to strain his throat this time. His voice was barely audible. “Miles didn’t know.”
Flambae nodded. With his free hand, he gently brushed Robert’s hair away from his forehead, wiping the thin line of sweat there.
“Maybe try not to have allergic reactions while I’m away, Robert.” Flambae muttered, stroking his boyfriend’s flushed cheek.
Robert laughed. Or tried to. It only triggered a short coughing fit that made Flambae instantly regret the teasing.
“I thought we weren’t joking about this.” Robert whispered, even hoarser now, though a faint smile still lingered.
“Yeah… I know. I’m sorry.” Flambae murmured.
He carefully leaned over the gurney and wrapped Robert in an awkward hug.
“I love you, okay? Don’t die on me, alright?”
“Yeah… I’ll try.” Robert reassured him, hugging him back.
Hope you don’t mind me asking… but what are the zteam’s reaction to Phoebe?
I LOVE ANSWERING QUESTIONS ABOUT MY AU'S SO NO I DON'T MIND AT ALL!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ASKING! this is legit one of my favorite au's!!!
re: magic, baby! au (tag)
note: while not mentioned in this post, this is an au where robert got pregnant via magic, if you would like full details please click one of the links above! | cw: implied mpreg
this is an amazing question too! it's a little complicated, but all of it is positive. they're mostly just, confused and in shock. they've heard about phoebe exactly once so far, when they finally meet her. it's in what will end up being this au's version of robert's talk to visi on what would normally be cut day (this is a no-cut au).
he never mentioned her age, or her relationship to him... they just know that he consider her the most important person in the world to him... they didn't get her name until the very end, when visi asked.
in another universe, they talked about fate. in this one, they talked about how everyone needs something — sometimes a someone — to motivate you to keep going. that makes it worth it. they're talking about hero work, but they're also really talking about so many other things. "what's yours? your, thing or whatever," visi had asked. "the most amazing girl in the world... she's my everything, and everything i do is for her~" by the end, the accidentally broadcasted conversation, has half the office in quiet tears and agreement.
but phoebe is a delightful sweetheart, and by the end of the day, they've all made the silent agreement that they are going to protect phoebe and robert. because how could they not?
visi has complicated feelings now, as she was developing a very strong attachment and crush on him. honestly, she knows it's probably hopeless, and like it's one thing to sleep with someone, it's another thing to sleep with a single parent.. but either way, it leaves her mulling over a lot of confusing feelings.
chad also has some complicated feelings now. but going from just liking your supervisors voice and thinking he is cute and gives good inspirational speeches. but he had heard about this 'perfect girl'; and that had been it. robert was, even if not straight, taken. and chad was a lot of thing, but a guy who helped someone cheat? nah. but this girl was a... daughter.
it honestly makes sense, in hindsight. even just how he interacts with them... chad has been chasing a real relationship for so long now... and he's always wanted children, so robert being a parent wasn't an issue for chad either, potentially... and robert blatantly said gender wasn't a problem for him... maybe—? he spends the entire night texting alice even after they part.
a little snippet. the overall scene is planned but this isn't like a direct snippet of a wip but something i whipped up for this! so dw it wont be so vague in the eventual fic~
at first, it’s confusion. then, shock, then realization, then delightful glee and curiosity. though shock and confusion do admittedly keep routinely weave in-and-out through the entire experience.
(for reasons I haven’t decided yet) the z-team are all together, and for whatever reason, they’re near the park robert and phoebe go to constantly. and happen to be at currently, because it’s their usual weekend outing for some quality time together in the fresh air.
they sit in a big rest area, where tons of people have gathered to linger as they eat whatever mid-day meal from the various gathered food trucks/vendors. they’re just, sitting around, shooting the breeze and vibing. when alice spots, now standing in line, someone who has clearly spent the morning on a run around the park’s path. she nudges chad, and points him out. they can only see him from the back; but he’s got clear muscle, but lovely layer of lean fat over that– they can see his hips, his great looking ass.
the two keep trying to not-so-subtly get a better look at him. then, he turns his head. and they realize, it’s robert robertson. their fucking dispatcher.
the entire z team immediately starts clowning on the two, before also quickly starting to agree that he looks good. they bicker, briefly, about if they should get his attention or not. robert has also been looking at… not the menu, but just his gaze is turned lower than looks natural. like he was watching something, but there was too many people and objects blocking whatever it could be.
visi finally just says fuck it and stands up on the stone bench— and shouts out “YO. ROOOBBBBEERRTTT!”
at the exact same time, robert leaned down, arms opening. and he raised up, with a little girl in his arms.
the off-duty dispatcher blinks, hearing his name; looking around to find the source of what sounded like his name. only to see the z-team staring at him and the five year old in his arms. then he smiles, warm and sheepish; he adjusts the girl in his arms, so he can wave.
“hey guys, uh didn’t expect to see you here,” he says as he approaches. the girl still in his arms.
the little girl doesn’t wait for her parent to introduce her: “hiii! i’m phoebe!” she says excited, waving.
everything clicks into place. the person, the phoebe, he’d talked about when he was talking to visi that everyone heard— was his daughter. the girl who completely changed his life for the better, and he felt was the most important person in the world, that he would do anything for — was this little girl.
robert chortles quietly, shifting her slightly on his full hip. “yeah. um, everyone, this is my daughter— phoebe,” robert says and the others are all cycling through the confusion-shock-realization-glee-curiosity over and over and at their own paces. “phoebe, you remember how i said i worked with a team? this is them! these are my coworkers, they’re all superheroes~”
robert says ‘they’re all superheroes’ a little quieter to his daughter. as if it’s a secret. and it kind of is, even though they were all just. people, in that moment. just some random fucking people who happened to see a coworker in public.
the z-team suddenly has to add pride to that tangled mess of emotions.
visi clears her throat. “uh, hi phoebe! i’m courtney,” she says, giving an uncharacteristically shy wave.
from there, the rest give their real names. names not even robert knew yet. flambae — chad — is the only one who seems the most at ease at being around the child.
and surprising a lot of them, little phoebe didn’t seem scared of a single one of them — not even malevola, victor, or janelle.
robert, phoebe, and the rest of the team end up spending quite a while longer at the park. phoebe happily running around. she’s a bundle of energy, a delight, curious, and a sweetheart to all of them as she weaves in-and-out of interacting with her ‘baba’ and the team.
all while robert ends up telling them about how she came to be. totally un-embarassed by any of it; and all while keeping a subtle but steady awareness of his daughter and what she was doing. all of them keep an eye on her too, for safety, but also fascination.
by the time robert and phoebe are finally called away, by “uncle chase”, to come home for dinner—
they all absolutely adore phoebe. and robert, in their own individual ways.
I need a question for lynx…. HOW THE FUCK (excuse my French) DO YOU KEEP THESE CATS FROM BEING RELATED WHEN THEY MARRY?! (I’m pulling out my hair trying to make a family tree)
1) Utilize outsider sires whenever applicable
2) Third cousins are probably distant enough they don't remember any relation
3) Toss in a forbidden relationship or a Clan-hopper or two every generation
4) Keep the kittens of a molly who reproduce themselves down to one or two, rarely three individuals, so the line is secured but doesn't geneswamp the population
Two of the Clans’ largest legends would undoubtedly make the most loyal, fierce warrior possible… Right?
MEET: Gingersnap, previously Leopardglow
Born just after Firestar’s rise to leadership and named after Tigerstar’s late mother, Leopardglow was loud, energetic, and friendly from the very moment she opened her eyes — much to the disdain of her ThunderClan Clanmates. Despite Firestar’s blood running through her veins, ThunderClan would have much rather had nothing to do with Tigerstar’s spawn, and while her half-siblings Brambleclaw and Tawnypelt were content to settle into the shadows while they grew, and linger there even after Tigerstar’s death, Leopardglow simply could not.
Too extroverted for her own good, Leopardglow did everything she possibly could to bolster her reputation within the Clan — within all the Clans — in a desperate bid to make friends and feel seen and supported. She trained herself relentlessly into a decent hunter and better fighter, and, for a while, seemed to have finally wiggled her way into ThunderClan’s good graces and affections… Until she unsheathed her claws one day, and found herself unable to withdraw them. Tigerstar’s claws, whispered the Clans. A bad omen.
For a time, Leopardglow still relentlessly tried to make herself into a friend to anyone, but not even her slightly older half siblings through Tigerstar, nor her little half siblings through Firestar, seemed to want much to do with her. So, she turned to what felt like a last resort, driven by desperation and loneliness: her father’s birthplace, the Twoleg Houses.
She was quickly scooped up by a loving pair of housefolk due to her unusual coat, who named her “Gingersnap”: a name she adopted with great joy and pride. While she wasn’t very welcomed on the streets — her reputation as the daughter of both Scourge’s assailant and murderer preceded her —, her fellow kittypets were warm and friendly, and found themselves often drawn to her for her grand stories of being born wild, as well as her overall joyous nature. While some cats do find her a bit overbearing, the two cats she shares her home with — another ex-Clan cat who took the name Whiskers, and a pampered purebred named Hera — love listening to Gingersnap’s stories, adore her bold nature, and are deeply fond of her overall.
In her new home, Gingersnap finally found the acceptance and love she so dearly craved.

Yay another au/rewrite I am collecting them like Pokémon!
So who’s Tigerclaw’s family? Are him and Darkstripe now brothers?
I imagine my au's typing would be dark/fighting, although I've never personally gotten into either the digital nor traditional card games. I did watch the earlier animes though.
Tigerclaw and Darkstripe are not brothers in this au, I've simply switched Darkstripe into his place pretty much in terms of family minus Pinestar being Tigerstar's dad still. Darkstripe's dad however is a sore subject, especially to Frostfur and Bluestar, but the whole clan saw him and his siblings as... far from The Great Lion's blessing. If you were to ask any cat, they'd probably say something akin to it being a lucky thing Snowfall was already hit by a van early into motherhood lest she be hit by heartbreak in it's place. You could guess which would do more damage.
Leopardpaw and Snowpaw had very similar interests as apprentices and when they became warriors, they may have been a very good soldier duo, despite their competitive nature against always one-uping each other.
This was actually brought up just recently in a server I'm in when I said I regretted not giving Amber stripes early on lol. It can be possible that stripes will come in or be more visible the older she gets. Though I've done quite a bit of stuff with teen/Adult Amber already that if I were to give her stripes when she's older...I mean I know they're future scenarios, not present stuff, so I'm not sure if they'd have to be retconned or not lol
