I flew to JFK today by myself - my first time flying alone in probably...5 years. It was amazing. And thank goodness I had a window seat.
My most recent Amazon purchases.
Someone finally gets it.
When it snows in New York City, the whole place looks like a holiday card…for about 45 minutes, and then resembles a graphic representation of a high-end hell. New York in the winter is a wonderland, in that you wonder why the fuck you live here. The true New York Christmas image is not Central Park in the snow, it’s a New Yorker stepping into the road, onto what he thinks is ice, only for his foot to break through half a foot of freezing mystery slush, with the mystery liquid going up over his ankles and seeping into his shoe, as the man in question shouts, ‘FUCK’. If you could take a photo of the moment of the ‘F’ in ‘FUCK’ then you have the fairest holiday card representation of New York in winter.

So painfully painfully true.
That's your jacket. We brought it in case it got cold. Which it didn't. It's 27 outside.
Ryan to an inquisitive Declan tonight in the car ride home from dinner
We had an ice storm last week in Northern VT. Our entire yard, street, and neighborhood look like this. It's pretty (with more ice and rain on the way tonight.)

Just so we're clear: Declan wasn't anywhere NEAR making this list when we had him in 2011. That was one of our "rules" - that it couldn't be in the top 100.
Truth.
This blog turned 5 today...so I was told by my first ever Birthday email from Tumblr.
Burt, are we fuck-ups? No! What do you mean? I mean, we're 34... I'm 33. ...and we don't even have this basic stuff figured out. Basic, like how? Basic, like how to live. We're not fuck-ups. We have a cardboard window. [Looks at window] We're not fuck-ups. [Whispers] I think we might be fuck-ups. [Whispers back] We're not fuck-ups.
Because sometimes this is how it feels...

This is pretty cool but primarily I'm reblogging it so I can let Declan watch a video of cranes (TANE!) moving while I attempt to go to the bathroom...alone...
