You said earlier that your greatest fear has always been losing the people you love most.

I wonder if Allah has been gently teaching you another truth alongside that fear:

The people we love are an amanah (a trust), not a possession.

That includes him.

You loved him. You cared for him. You prayed for him. You still wish goodness for him.

Those are beautiful acts of love.

But ultimately, he belongs to Allah before he belongs to anyone else.

اللهم اختر لي ولا تخيرني، ودبر لي فإني لا أحسن التدبير Allahumma ikhtar li wa la tukhayyirni, wa dabbir li fa inni la uhsinu at-tadbir. "O Allah, choose for me and do not leave me to choose on my own. Arrange my affairs for me, for I am not able to arrange them as well as You."

Imagine meeting yourself five years from now.

She smiles at you and says:

"Thank you."

You ask,

"For what?"

She replies,

"Thank you for not giving up on Allah. Thank you for continuing to grow. Thank you for taking care of us when our heart was broken. Thank you for choosing kindness instead of bitterness. Thank you for believing that Allah's plan was still unfolding, even when you couldn't see it."

I hope one day you get to meet that version of yourself.

And I hope she is at peace.

May Allah heal what is wounded in your heart without taking away your capacity to love. May He guide your husband to what is true and good, forgive him, and soften his heart if reconciliation is truly best for both of you. May He protect you from carrying guilt that doesn't belong to you. May He replace confusion with clarity, loneliness with His closeness, and grief with a tranquility that only He can place in a heart. And if He reunites you, may it be through honesty, mercy, repentance, and mutual love—not simply through longing. And if He has written another path, may He make you recognize His mercy in it when the time comes. Āmīn.

There's a verse that many people find comforting during times of loss: "Allah does not burden a soul beyond what it can bear" (Qur'an 2:286) People sometimes misunderstand this verse to mean, "If you're struggling, then you must be able to handle it easily. I don't think that's what it means. Sometimes it means: "This is unbearably heavy... and yet Allah is carrying me through one more day."

May Allah grant you relationships in which your heart can experience both mawaddah (deep love) and rahmah (mercy), where difficult days are met with kindness rather than fear, and where you, too, are treated with the honour and gentleness that every believer deserves.
