When Melissa clears a few things up about Wilden

Season 4 episode.... 4 I think. (paraphrasing here) Melissa says to Spencer “I was on the train with Wilden, I didn’t know he was going to try and kill you. I sent Jenna and Shana to watch you at the lodge because I thought you were working with Ali. Wilden set the fire. He wasn’t smart enough to pull any of this off himself he was working for someone. They didn’t see who pulled you all out.” After a bit of arguing from Spencer, Melissa gets a bit emotional “I’ve been protecting you since it started!” and something about how “don’t you think its possible Ali could still be alive?”

Soooooo that explains a fair bit. We all know Melissa buried that other girl to protect Spencer. This proves:

Melissa worked with Wilden on the ghost train (though apparently not knowing his intentions). Was she blackmailed to work with him? Or was she also trying to get rid of Garrett?

Wilden was working for someone - red coat? Cece? Charles?

Question: What was Wilden really trying to hide underneath it all? If he was seeing Ali that summer surely it wouldn’t be worth going to that much trouble to hide something so small? He had to be hiding something bigger. Maybe he found out about Ali’s weird family dynamics? Maybe he tried to kill the girls because he knew eventually they would find out his secret? Maybe he still thought he did actually get Ali pregnant and everyone would think he murdered her for it?

Why do they need Melissa’s medical records? How is that relevant to Wilden’s murder? So many questions.

Ian and the suicide note - we find out at some point (forgot when) that Ian didn’t write that note A did. But also, how is Ian’s suicide note relevant to Wilden dying, Ian’s dead. We think.

The restraining order: Who is that for? Its on the lines connecting Garrett, Wilden, Caleb and a touch of Ashley Marin.

Also highly important: WHO IS THAT GUY? On the bottom of the screen. He’s not the theater manager incase you were wondering. Aria met him another time and they look nothing alike.

I can’t quite make out all of Dr Sulivans note but it says “Sulivan claims privlege for every (....) Why did she con(....) after MV Interview?

Who Profits? Above Ali’s head. Which is so interesting, who does profit for Wilden being dead. According to Melissa he wasn’t smart enough to pull everything off by himself he was working for someone. Was that someone the person that killed Wilden. Cece perhaps? I personally think Cece killed Wilden and she was red coat but thats just my hunch....

Bottom Right Corner: The top of that big forehead looks like Byron to me... If you compare it to the establishing shot of the whole board.

Noel Kahn: Connected to Jenna and Mona. Note says: Party complaint, (word I can’t quite make out) Action Challenged, JM relationship started when?

Business card next to Jenna - Is that where she supposively was when Wilden died? Confirm Alibi referring to card maybe?

This shot isn’t too fascinating apart from “Dr.” Kingston in the left corner. Why is that in quotations? Is Wren not a real Doctor?

Ashley Marin - Note the capital T’s in the note on the right - That is A’s hand writing. No one else does the weird upper case T’s, it was even in the dollhouse episode on Mona’s note when she gets the gas mask - “Because you’re my favouriTe” So that’s creepy. Is A on the police? Toby wasn’t even on the force yet so it rules him out in this one instance.

Also bottom right corner. Who the hell is she!? We’ve never seen her before! Everyone on this board is connected to Wilden? How is she connected? She’s only linked to one other person (which you can’t see in this shot) some bald dude. Who are they!? His sister? I have no idea.

Season 4 Hana walks into a conference room at the police station and sees this: A board of all of the people connected to Wilden as far as the police are aware of.

There’s definitely a few interesting pieces in here, Cece only has a line drawn to Wilden, no one else for one.

I’ll post close ups individually and analyse from there.

The Most Important Episodes of Season 3

ep13: This is A Dark Ride: Garett dies, after telling Spencer all he knows. Adam Lambert makes an appearance. Wilden and Melissa put Aria in a box (well, Mona says it was Melissa). Lucas is acting shady. Mona wears a matching costume to Caleb and almost makes out with Hanna. Creepy ghost girl from Alison's Halloween story turns up at Mrs Marin's house.

ep21: Out of Sight out of Mind: Possibly our first glimpse at the Dollhouse.

ep 24: A DAngerous Game: Black Widow: Who we assume evolved from Red Coat when the coat was burnt in the lodge fire. We see her take her veil off to reveal a creepy burnt Ali mask. Toby gets a txt from A saying something along the lines of “Bring me the lair and I’ll tell you all about your mom.” So who could that be I wonder? My suspects are: Wren, Mrs D and Bethany Young (providing she’s not actually dead). Also Eddie Lamb, but thats extremely doubtful. I picked these suspects based on their connections to Radley. What I’ve gathered is that Red Coat = Black Veil who is possibly Melissa or Cece, because: Melissa and Wilden supposedly worked together on the Ghost Train. Jenna was friends with Wilden and she was also afraid of Melissa. Cece killed Wilden. Melissa and Cece fought the night Ali "disappeared". Melissa took the picture of Wilden, Cece and Alison together. According to the PLL wikia page Wilden set the lodge on fire with all the girls inside, perhaps whoever killed Wilden did it to also save the girls? Otherwise its gotta be Bethany Young but she’s ?? dead. So, I’ll stick with suspecting the two alive characters; but it wouldn’t be the first time we thought someone was dead and they really weren’t.

Lets not forgot Cece came to Radley many times to see Mona, but as Mona was on medication she thought Cece was Ali and can’t remember what they talked about. Maybe she also forgot that Wren or Eddie Lamb listened in on their conversations? Also Wren and Eddie have a bit of a tense relationship.

Some hints from Season 3: (kinda)

Mona’s Locker - (sorry I didn’t grab a closer photo guys) She has a sticker that says $IXS’TEP -I have no idea what this means. So if someone has any ideas help me out! Remember that Marlene always says everything in PLL is significant!

The box Emily is holding seems to be another hint that proves the writers have been hinting about Charles’ existence for a while. "A l i son" is written on the box Emily’s holding. Does anyone else find it interesting how the letters are spaced apart? As a typography nerd (I spent 4 years at design school, don’t judge me) this is a hint that there are multiple sons - if Charles does turn out to be Mrs D's son. Maybe I’m looking too far into this as per usual.. but everything is significant right?

Emily was totally in the Dollhouse before it was the Dollhouse

I rewatched Season 5 ep 21: Out of Sight, Out of Mind - and may have found something that put Toby higher on my Charles suspect list.

‘Toby’ told Emily to meet him at 7pm, and sent her the address via txt message. She arrived in a big warehouse with a bunch of guys working pretty hard on something (the dollhouse!?!?). Also, still working on a project at 7pm seems a bit suspicious right? Anyway Toby’s ‘colleague’ talks to Em and calls her Emily. She says “I never told you my name, how did you know that?” (paraphrasing a bit), and he just saunters off... How did he know that? Sidenote: Emily also saw Red Coat at the warehouse. Em returns to her car to find the window smashed with an envelope inside, containing Toby’s funeral card and a little message from A in what appears to be blood inside a miniature coffin.

What if ‘Toby’ did lead Emily to the warehouse on purpose, to see if she would pick up on what’s going on? Which she clearly didn’t. Perhaps this is why she had the scissors and her string wasn’t attached in the promo photo of our previous post (here). Maybe she realised she’d been there long ago?

Throughout season 3 the miniature dollhouse has been in the end A scene in almost every episode, so I think the writers have in fact been planning this for a long time and we missed all their subtle hints! Maybe they do actually have a plan

Has anyone else noticed Emily’s string isn’t attached and she’s holding scissors? I have no idea what this even means! Is Emily the one thats going to get everyone out of the dollhouse? Also whats up with the shovel being next to Aria, maybe its just another red herring move but is it!? Damn you pll.

Well, I feel like this has poked the last hole in our transgender theories

The quote from this interview with Brendan Robinson (Lucas) that really struck me was “...I don’t know if our show would ever really tackle something like that. It’s a really kind of prominent discussion topic in the media right now, gender identity and transgender stories, but yeah, I don’t know if we’ll go down that road.”

We’ve been thinking that it would be an amazing twist for a gender identity story to come through, but I think Brendan quashes that idea... and makes a fair point. And as for Lucas being A? It’s starting to seem less and less likely, but he’s still on our list of suspects! In this interview, he also hinted “... by the end of summer season you'll know the answers to the current 'A' mystery, about Charles, Bethany, everything. I will hint that Lucas will be involved” We can’t wait to find out how Bethany and Charles and the Dilaurentis’ all fit together!

I actually can’t deal.

This is my rant, because there is so much I go round in circles about.

Can someone please tell me what the hell Bethany Young is? Could a kid really be in Radley for over 10 years? How could they be so unstable after all those years of treatment!? Spencer and Mona were in and out of that place. How was some kid so messed up 10 years of rehabilitation and drugs still hadn't got them well enough to atleast get down graded to living at home and regular visits with a psychologist? Is she Mrs D's daughter? How can she have an estranged daughter and Charles too? And Jason has another Dad? That's too many kids right? I can see one estranged kid but otherwise I'm truly shocked at how messed up Mrs D was

Jessica Dilaurentis & Bethany Young

Mrs D was buying clothes for another girl when Ali was young as showed (in this instance I will refer to them as female purely based on the clothes). Now I think it is possible (like many things in pll) that Bethany either saw Mrs D push Toby's mum off the Roof top or she told Mrs D who she witnessed pushing her. (I don't want to accuse anyone of doing it because this show is making me cray). Mrs D made Bethany lie and say she didn't see anything. It is perhaps this point where Bethany began to hate Mrs D, forcing her to lie. She was in Radley for a reason afterall, maybe Bethany had a short fuse. Now something that has never been resolved was the letter Bethany wrote to Ali, saying how excited she was to meet her on labour day. Maybe Mrs D got Bethany excited, told her she could come home for Labour day but either Radley or Mrs D decided it wasn't a good idea, in her frustration she escaped Radley and found the Dilaurentis house. Wearing the new shirt mrs D got her and Ali, the killer mistakenly hit Bethany thinking it was Alison. Melissa then came and buried the body thinking it was Ali and Spencer killed her with the shovel.

What I don't understand is Who killed Ali? Who killed Bethany? and Did they kill Bethany thinking it was Ali? Or did they kill Ali thinking it was Bethany?

And is Bethany dead for reals or did she get out of the ground and some crazy covered up her death by killing Sara Harvey and putting her in the yellow shirt. How did three blonde girls all go missing in the same night? Help me out.

What I find most interesting is who isn’t on this list.

3 in particular

Jason - Doesn’t this seem a little odd? Brother of Alison, abusing substances, related to Spencer and Melissa, telling the police Ali was gone for a while on Thanksgiving. The list goes on, there were so many ways A could have manipulated Jason but they didn’t. So maybe this has actually been a huge inverted foreshadowing that A have no hate in their heart for Jason, because Jason is in fact his brother. Also where the butt did Jason go in Season 4?

Cece- Wasn’t Cece on the run? She was from the police because she killed Wilden but seriously? She was the older version of Ali and she came out scott free from A? Why wouldn’t A be after her too she was one of Ali’s best friends. I don’t understand.

Lucas - He was being blackmailed by Mona (she found out he was dealing test results to every paper in the school - side note, Lucas has always been a hacker too?) Maybe he never got txts from A because Mona was blackmailing him directly? But is that really as deep as that relationship went? He said he covered his tracks. Also does anyone else find it interesting the wig/hair Charles has in S05E25 The Dollhouse remarkably similar hair to Lucas? I could be reading into it but that costume must hold some significance.

Emily and Hana’s Dads. No real surprises there since they are never in Rosewood.

But Lucas, Jason and Cece have all somehow been off A’s radar. Why?

I do know who it is, and what I love about who it is is that everyone knows who it is ... but it will be so shocking and surprising. Everyone will freak out because it's so clearly in every episode. When it's finally revealed, you could literally go back to season 1 and knowing who it is, you can be like, 'Oh, wow. Whoa. This has been here all along, and I never noticed it,' which is, I think, brilliant.
