Off duty and on the beach.
I think I’m calling in sick today.
This is a first…
And most likely a last. I need a chance to breathe away from a building full of Omegas. No offence, but you all are about to send me into a Rut.
Hmm the Omega House full of Omegas..who ever would have thought. Take the time you need. I won't have a horny Alpha around them...or me..thank you.
Eoin said that I needed shoes that said " I'm the boss" as if that wasn't already evident...
I think I’m calling in sick today.
This is a first...
Welcome Wagon || Aislynn and Nixon
Nixon nodded. “Alright,” he said. “It makes sense.” He took a few bites of his sandwich before starting. “Well…I’m a Delta obviously. It was really just me and my Papa. He taught me what he knew, but I didn’t really go to school with the other kids. I can read and write though and do some math though I’m not very good.” He paused to eat a bit more. “I did get all my childhood shots. I have asthma, arthritis, and..well, a really weak immune system. I get sick if anyone sneezes around me.”
" I see.." Aislynn said, voice always laced with a motherly concern. " And would you want any special accommodation for that? Clearly we have a hospital wing and all of our residents are taken care of. We rarely have any actual viruses going around." she assured, folding her hands on the table and realizing that she should have grabbed herself a coffee. " What about work? Did you venture into anything?..... I understand if you just kept to yourself but what about your interests? Would you hypothetically have a dream job?" she raised her eyebrow.
"Yes, well…I suppose you’d have to be." He mused, still pacing around the room, taking it all in. "…Alphas are all regarded as threats in the classes? I mean…shouldn’t there be an easing of paranoia as well? Teach people that not all other presentations are bad and—"
King Windsor suddenly cut himself off and turned to her, bowing a little. “I apologize. I’m talking about things I don’t understand. This is your area of expertise, not mine, and I apologize for presuming I would even begin to have a better approach to any of this.”
"Not the only threat... it about self defense in general. However we try ease their fears. Most of them still consider Alpha's their number one threat. We even have some Alpha volunteers who come in for the class and help them." she explained.
Aislynn waited for him to be down, biting the edge of her lip and allowing him to voice his concerns. ".... We make that clear far before this class. It is both a part of the psychological healing process and the emotional growth therapy all residents complete." she explained. "This class isn't for new comers....this is for those who are already comfortable with themselves and the world around them- possessing the knowledge and clear mind it takes to even think about moving on into the outside world." she explained. " Sorry I did not specify..."

Nixon was a bit overwhelmed by the choices, but finally settled on something. He approached the mess hall worker and requested a turkey sandwich. “What sort of information do you need for the form?” he asked as he waited for his meal. The worker returned shortly with a rather elaborate sandwich. He’d expected just turkey but this had lettuce, tomato, gouda cheese, and avocado as well on a baked roll.
"Details about your previous situation..." Aislynn began. " Then just a general questionnaire we ask all of our residents... if you had any education... received all of your shots...any medical issues we should be aware about. We take down your description- eye color, height, weight... just in case you leave the House and you do not return when without notification if you planned on coming back. We become your family...if something happens to you while you are out we will come and get you. No matter what the situation...that and in case you'd like to try and do anything to the House...steal...ransack..." she shrugged. " It's happened with a few people before. It's just a precaution now."
Welcome Wagon || Aislynn and Nixon
Nixon hadn’t really thought about how hungry he was until she offered food. He didn’t remember the last time he ate anything substantial. He’d been living off of chips he was able to buy with spare change he found or begged for.
"I’m starving," he admitted. His stomach rumbled in agreement. At this point anything would be good to him. He just wanted something satisfying.
"Right this way..." she gave a soft smile and lead him into the large mess hall. " We have a pantry you can take from and put food up into your room.." she explained. " We also have three meals a day...and this small cafe." The Omega crossed her arms and waited for him to decide where he wanted to go. " What are you in the mood for?" she raised her eyebrow, already starting to fill out the form on the clip board.
Augustus looped his pinky through Gracie's, meeting her eyes solemnly, taking her desire seriously right down to the soles of his feet. "I promise, Gracie." He hooked a finger under her chin, their pinkies still holding on. "Chin up, now. For both of us."
King Windsor was quiet as Aislynn lead him to the gym, looking at everything with the same assessing interest that he'd carried early on in the day. It was good to see Aislynn so interested in preparing people to move on after life in the House, though the training wasn't necessarily adequate. She was doing what she could. That was something he could truly appreciate.
And identify with.
"You're trained in self defense?" He asked, clearly interested as he circled one of the hanging bags.
"I am trained in a lot of things, Sir." Aislynn chuckled at the question, her mind flashing back to studying for Law course at four int he morning after six cups of coffee.
"...I didn't come from the very secure household. When self defense becomes a daily occurrence..you get rather practiced. Once I was here I was able to learn proper techniques." she explained. " It important to instill that confidence in our residents again...Even if they stay int he House... people have to go out to the store or perhaps a job at some point. Alphas and other threats are everywhere."
The Omega came to the front and crossed her arms, allowing him to walk around. " They learn how to stop playing the victim. How to look within themselves and find the strength many overlook." she shrugged. " That and how to handle weapons." she winked. " No shooting ranges in the House though. We go our for that sort of thing..."
Take this one with you.
He looks like he is ready for waves already!
Welcome Wagon || Aislynn and Nixon
Aislynn patiently waited for the delta to speak, understanding that the circumstances that usually landed people at the Omega House were not the easiest to discuss. Her eyes softened at the little details he gave, nodding in sympathy. She could relate to his story - the loss of her mother being the breaking point of her withstanding the environment around her as well.
"You must be exhausted." she sighed, reaching out carefully and rubbing his shoulder as they walked to the front. " Can I have a register form. please?" she asked Nancy at the front desk and took the clip board. "Would you like something to eat? Water...coffee? We can fill it out in the dining hall if you would like." she offered.
You smell of Alpha. Do you know that?
I interact with numerous people throughout the day. Is it bothering you?
I’m not stupid, Aislynn. It’s the one who comes for the defense classes. You’re sleeping with him.
Is that really any of your business? You don’t have to say it like I’m some five dollar tramp whoring around. I’m in a relationship.
You know I didn’t mean it that way. A relationship? How are you in a relationship?
Well I met a man that I liked to spend time with and it just so happens that he also likes spending time with me. So we spend time together. We go for walks with the dog. We go out to eat. Yes, we sometimes have sex. He understands I am busy and often times he is as well...
I always wanted to learn how to play..
I could teach you if you like…
I'm afraid I wouldn't be too good at it if I tried.
"It doesn’t matter. Fenrir will handle it and if he doesn’t…I will." Basil continued to assure as they walked. "Don’t touch it.." He ordered, taking her hand from her lip. He pushed open the door to the hospital wing and sat her down on the nearest bed. The wing was almost empty except for the staff. He knelt down in front of her and smiled weakly. "You’re safe now. You don’t have have to worry about that bastard right now." He stated firmly, patting her knee. "How are you feeling…physically? I can see how you are, mentally."
Aislynn still was bothered by the fact her father had found her here- knowing deep inside that he would just keep coming back and nothing anyone could do would stop him. She allowed him to take her hand away from her lip, grimacing at the stinging pain that came when she made her lips into a straight line. "....He threw me down the staircase." she explained with a swallow. " I've had worse." she shrugged, glad that the only broken glass this time was from a lamp she broke over his head. The young Omega shifted a bit restlessly in her seat, not wanting to be alone but fearing the answer Basil would give if she asked him to stay.
