Reflection on 2020 Quarantine Life
Here, I will share my activities and my two cents about MCO or quarantine lifestyle in this current 2020. At first, I was sad to spend almost the entire year just staying at home without socializing with friends etc. However, I believe behind every cloud there is a silver lining. During this MCO, I manage to catch up on so many fun ideas or things that I used to miss out on due to academic demands or work. First and foremost, since my mom passed away last year, my dad has remarried this year. Hence, with the mco requiring me to stay at home, like a thunder i grab this opportunity and use it as best as possible to bond with my stepmom. Since she loves to bake traditional cakes and ‘kuih’, I try my hardest to socialize and help her. I used this free time at home to try getting closer to her. I admit it was sad and hard at first because I needed to stay at home where my mom is no longer here, but my stepmom presence became sort of a cure to my heart. Although I cannot say it's the same as my late mother, at least it fills the void in our heart especially to my father. Therefore, I dare to say that MCO has provided a great wisdom or ‘hikmah’ in helping all of us to strengthen and tighten our silaturahim.
Next, in my standpoint, MCO is the best time for me to get back and accumulate reward from all sorts of ibadah sunnah. It is not a brag but I figured with all the free time on my hand for three months before ERTL started, most of us have the energy and the convenience in performing solat dhuha and tahajud. Other than that, during MCO it helps my family to appreciate each other's presence so much from the congregational prayer. During this time, almost every day we never fail to perform congregational prayer together. Especially during ramadan for tarawih. All of this without my realization has made me become very grateful for having a family that was happy and understanding during this hard time. I tried my best to be grateful to Allah s.w.t for bestowing me with a safe and good family and never comparing my family with others because I believe what Allah s.w.t has given and planned for us is all the best whether we realized it or not.
Last but not least, I believe that during this MCO it has given me and all of us a lesson that Allah will never test us outside our capabilities. I firmly believe that all of us can stay strong and work hard together to stay safe and practice the rules that the government has set out as it was all for our betterment. Together, let's stay positive and practice the new norm of life to avoid the spreading of the virus.
WE CAN BEAT THE COVID-19. Insyaallah! Thank you and stay safe everyone. 💜💜💜
