Who's running this page??
The SC as a whole runs this page.
Healthy Juice Packs In Cafe
ANONYMOUS: Today, I saw someone opening a juice pack and pouring it into a cup. This prompts the question, “Can we have healthy juice packs sold in the cafe?”
We have the addition of milk sold in the cafe this semester. I appreciate the addition, even though I rarely drink milk.
I heard that this is a good place to feedback for the student council to help implement new positive and useful suggestions. If not, please inform.
Please kindly consider the suggestion of healthy juice packs. God bless!
SC: Thank you very much for your suggestion! We greatly appreciate it. It is a good thought. We will pass it on to the relevant people.
Giggle Time:
ANONYMOUS: What kind of man was Boaz before he married Ruth?
SC: Ruthless!
SC Election
ANONYMOUS: I like the new idea of not necessarily having a team but able to run for election in groups or alone. This provides for more healthy competition.
I would like to suggest that having both the Religious Officer and Associate Religious Officer as Executive Officers might disrupt the power balance. As such they have 1/3 power in the executive committee.
I believe that it would be wiser to have only 1 Religious Officer in the Executive Committee and thus have 1/5 in the power balance. The Associate can be part of the team.
This is my humble suggestion. God bless!
SC: Thank you for your suggestion. After bringing your suggestion to the SC team, we have come to the conclusion and feel like we need to clarify a few things. The reason we initially decided to have both Religious and Associate Religious Officers in the executive committee is because as a university based on Bible principles, we believe the religious officers can offer valuable input that can help us reach what the school is trying to achieve. We want both Religious Officers to be elected by the students because we feel that when it comes to our beliefs, it is better to have someone the student body picks to step up and help lead. Regarding the power balance - the executive members do not carry any more decision-making power than the general members. Everyone’s votes count for one. Everyone has an equal chance to speak and help make decisions. Therefore, being in the executive committee doesn’t affect the decisions the SC makes as a whole. These are the reasons we have both Religious and Associate Religious Officers in the executive committee.
We hope we have adequately explained this. If not, you are welcome to contact us for any clarifications. Have a lovely day!
