Lightning
"Kissing you didn't feel right this time," she said. "I'm sorry."
"I broke my earphones today, because I was running after him. Literally. Running. After. Him. I couldn't keep up with his pace, so I had to try harder."
And in that moment, she felt it. She felt as if her chest was going to burst. It felt familiar. Her heart being that overwhelmed with emotions. She knew that she's gonna break her heart again. She knew it hurt. But this time she had to be brave.
She has to be braver.
Braver than she ever was when she's breaking her heart. Because now, she realizes that she can put her head around the fact that yes, it hurts. So what? She'll get over it soon enough.
She has to be braver, because she knows she can. She can be braver. She has to repeat it to herself. Over and over. Because that's how she'll finally believe herself. She can do this.
She has to be braver. The pain will soon fade away. The bursting will soon be over and done with and she'll finally be able to breathe again. Most probably love again.
Because she is braver.
