Two Aztec, properly known as Mexica, princesses, sit on a palace terrace, overlooking the ancient Mexica capital of Tenochtitlan. They are surrounded by native Mexican flowers, and wear beautifully embroidered huipiles. The women are in love, and tenderly kiss. One woman has in her hair two bunches of quetzal plumes, which is part of the symbolic regalia of Xochiquetzal, the Plumed Blossom, the goddess of love.
