4 TIPS TO SECRETLY FINDING OUT YOUR FIANCE'S RING SIZE

The month of June boasts the uncharted accolade of being the most popular month to get married. In honor of popping the question this month, we are dedicating this week’s Throwback Thursday to one of our more incognito approach of secretly maneuvering your way around finding out your fiancé’s correct ring size. You’ve found the love of your life, planned a romantic wedding proposal—and you even chose the perfect designer engagement ring. The only dilemma is you don’t know your fiancé’s ring size. You want the proposal to be a surprise, so what should you do? A. JAFFE has a few tips to help you accurately determine her ring size.

1. Pretend to Buy a Ring for Someone Else This might be a huge giveaway but tell her you need help buying a gift for your mom or sister, and you’re looking to buy a ring. Maybe this will help to bring up her ring size in conversation.

2. Investigate Her Jewelry Box When your fiancé is not around, open up her jewelry box and investigate. It’s not good to be snooping but this is an exception to make her wedding proposal extra special with that perfect designer ring. If possible try and get one of her rings. Make sure you take a ring that she normally wears on her left hand to get an accurate measurement. You’re probably thinking what good will this do for me?

Here are a few options to help figure out the ring size now that you have her ring:

* If you are able to borrow her ring for a little, take it to one of our retailers to help determine the ring size. * Trace the outline of her ring on paper and bring it to one of our retailers to help determine the ring size. * Press the ring into a bar of soap to leave an impression. 3. Find an Ally

At this point in your relationship, I’m sure your fiancé is beginning to suspect a proposal in the near future. As a result she has probably dropped hints to her friends or relatives. Most likely she wants to help make that process easier for you. If she hasn’t gossiped to anyone yet, it is very likely that a friend or relative has bought her a ring in the past and knows her ring size. Does size really matter? That is the question many people ask themselves when starting to shop for engagement rings. Of course every girl wants a rock of her very own, but what really matters is the sparkle and brilliance that the stone delivers. The value of a diamond is determined based on several factors. These factors are referred to as the 4 C’s: color, clarity, cut and carat. The combination of all four factors determines the value of the diamond, not just the carat weight.

Color: Refers to the white appearance of the diamond. Diamonds with a whiter appearance have the look of a higher quality.

Clarity: Refers to the inclusions of the diamond. When picking a diamond you want to choose a clarity that is flawless to the naked eye. Good choices are VVS, VS and SI.

Cut: Refers to the shape of the diamond. The cut reflects the brilliance and life of the diamond. You want your diamond to sparkle and pop.

Carat: Refers to the weight of the diamond. The bigger the diamond doesn’t always mean the bigger the carat size. Once a stone is cut the weight of the diamond is affected more than the size.

While we have established that carat size isn’t the only factor when it comes to buying an engagement ring, Hollywood seems to disagree. Carat size has become all the rage for celebrities; the bigger, the better. We at A.
