But in order for me to survive in this industry and in this world, in order for me to thrive, I have to stop believing that the root of my talent is a tree growing in someone else’s yard, as if the fruit it bears doesn’t belong to me.

We are living in a world where we watch our culture being consumed and are left starving for ourselves…and I don’t want to be hungry anymore.

Ok now I really just don't know what to say at all...this is me? THIS IS ME. I feel really conceited right now and I can't help it because I just really love this picture so much but let's all pretend like I was able to keep it together and say something artful and tasteful centered around gratitude, which I am, supremely grateful for @annieleibovitz_ for taking this picture and @vanityfair for choosing me to have my picture taken and I would also like to thank God and photoshop, my mother and father and my sisters.
