Hello friends! I’m an environmental educator recently turned zookeeper (aquarium keeper?) in the southern US. I work with a variety of birds and animal ambassadors at my aquarium. This blog is just random happenings in my life, bad jokes about science, animals, and a bit of anxiety. Enjoy!

a male sea turtle hatchling is a son of a beach* 

*and by that we mean sea turtles hatch in the sand and their sex is determined by the sand’s temperature and cooler temps produce males so climate change and warming sands are gonna be tough on these sons of beaches :/

So I downloaded this app that tells me what phase the moon is in and apparently it speaks in the first person

Outdoor kitty braves the elements in her stylish hoodie. 

Update: Thanks to a tip from @alex-l-h I have found more info about this stylish feline. 

Her name is Suki. She is a Bengal cat from Alberta, Canada. 

She is not just an outdoor kitty…

SHE IS AN ADVENTURER. 

She goes rock climbing. 

Mountain climbing. 

Which can make her a bit sleepy.

She enjoys a good leaf.

Or a good 50 leafs. 

She has a super cool human named Marti. 

Marti is a stellar photographer. 

And Suki is her faithful companion. 

Here is some cat pooping information you are probably interested in knowing… 

Where does Suki poop when you are outside or on the road? Suki uses her litter box while we are driving, so that just means having to pull over to clean it up if it’s a #2. She doesn’t like doing her business when we are on the trails, but will eventually just go when she finds a suitable patch of ground. Make sure to bring a baggie to remove the poop from the trails, its good Karma!

Suki isn’t thrilled that people know about her pooping habits.
