THE HUSTLER (1961) dir. Robert Rossen
Sculptures by Garret Kane
Garret Kane is an assemblage sculpture artist based in Brooklyn NY. From the concept of the materials and techniques used,Ā almost all his sculptures embody the idea that human beings were made by nature and through technology, we attempt to recreate nature in our own image.

As the global death toll from an alarming new coronavirus surged this week, promoters of the pro-Trump QAnon conspiracy theory were urging their fans to ward off the illness by purchasing and drinking dangerous bleach.
The substanceādubbed āMiracle Mineral Solutionā or āMMSāāhas long been promoted by fringe groups as a combination miracle cure and vaccine for everything from autism to cancer and HIV/AIDS.
The Food and Drug Administration has repeatedly warned consumers not to drink MMS, last year calling it effectively a ādangerous bleachā that could cause āsevere vomitingā and āacute liver failure.ā
Science has a name for this: natural selection.

Why do you think Trump hates Obama so much? Is it really the extent of his extremely prevelent racism, or is there more to it? Like maybe jealousy or something similar?
He put out a full page ad in the New York Times calling for the death five innocent black boys. Heās simply a racist man to his core who, like so many other bigots, canāt stand the sight of a black man in power.
There was also the 2011 correspondentsā dinner, where Obama absolutely destroyed Trump (in a very funny way) for chasing theĀ ābirtherā nonsense.Ā I am convinced Trumpās hatred for Obama comes as much out of that as out of his obvious racism.
Andrea Mitchell, NBC Newsā chief foreign affairs correspondent, sat down with Brian Williams last night and reflected on the White House team responding to the crisis in the Middle East. She characterized Donald Trumpās existing operation as āleast experienced, the least effective, and the smallestā in recent memory.
Mitchell, a veteran journalist whoās covered a variety of Democratic and Republican administrations, concluded that the current president has āthe worst national security team that Iāve ever seen.ā
I think thatās unambiguously true, and to appreciate its accuracy, there are two broad angles to consider. The first is that Trumpās team, to the extent that it can even be called a āteam,ā is woefully incomplete. As Garrett Graff noted yesterday, the Trump administration does not currently have, for example, a Senate-confirmed director of National Intelligence or a deputy director of National Intelligence.
Thereās also no Senate-confirmed Homeland Security secretary or deputy secretary. Thereās no Senate-confirmed undersecretary for arms control and international security affairs or assistant secretary for arms control, verification, and compliance.
At the Pentagon, meanwhile, thereās been a scramble of top officials resigning, including six notable departures in the last five weeks.
For several of the aforementioned positions, the White House hasnāt even nominated anyone to fill the posts. As Trumpās presidency enters its fourth year, and as circumstances require a competent and experience national security team, it stands to reason that the administration wouldnāt still be struggling with vacancies and acting officials.
And yet, here we are.
Making matters slightly worse, the second angle of note is the fact that some of the officials who make up Trumpās current national security team fail to inspire confidence.
From Trumpās perspective, it doesnāt matter.Ā He is the only necessary one.
