What does it mean to you?
Our friend and fellow thru-hiker and film maker made a documentary about the 2012 thru-hike. This is a trailer and you can order this and other hiking documentaries at his site: http://www.squatchfilms.com/index.html
Watercolors I painted during the three months I spent in PA after the hike.
Our 2012 thru-hiker friends from California, Birdkicker and Bottlecaps made this very cool video of the trail itself so you can 'hike' it in about 5 minutes. Awesome. Good luck to all of the 2013 hikers who are already started or getting ready to head out on this year's thru-hike. All of us who have gone before are thinking of you and hoping you have an amazing journey. You will never forget it.
“ Nothing that I can do will change the structure of the universe. But maybe, by raising my voice I can help the greatest of all causes—goodwill among men and peace on earth.” ~ Albert Einstein.
My friend and part of our 'Lil Fam' on the trail, Mr Fabulous, who you've seen throughout the second half of my hike is writing a book about his experience. Please check out his blog on FB as he progresses through this process. He has a unique story to tell. He never backpacked or camped in his 41 years and has lived in New York City for most of his life. He is Puerto Rican American but many people mistake him for being African American. The point is that a minority thru-hiking the trail is a rare site. I think he was the only Latino on the trail. He also had to learn everything as he hiked along. He did a pure white blaze hike, meaning he hiked every inch of the trail from GA to ME. Follow him as he continues his journey through the evolution of his writing and stay tuned for the book!
Wiffle Chicken was one of our fellow thru-hikers. He made this very entertaining video. He carried a wiffle bat with the ball tied to it with a string and he and everyone he encountered had great fun during down times and breaks on the trial. Take a look.

You have to take the 'ferry' to cross the Kennebec River on the AT, so the boat has white blaze inside of it. Hillybilly Dave was our 'ferry' operator but Mr Fabulous helped.
