Why was he insisting so much? Wouldn’t it be better for her to be out of his hair? Surely he had better things to do than accompany a drunk and emotional girl like her this late at night. Soojung stared at him, surprirsed that he was bein so kind. Kindness was not a trait she saw on people so very often. It was her fault, really. And right now she was doing it deliberately but it did not shake the male. She felt guilt rise in her stomach, hand unconsciously tightening around the jacket. She was guilty for this whole night, really. For causing a scene, for ruining her friends’ night and possibly this guy’s night too. She was even apologizing. “Why are you even apologizing?” She asked, her tone softer. “It’s not like you’re at fault for anything. You’re just trying to…to help.” She was stumbling on her words and rather unstable on her feet. Blindly reaching for the street lamp, she held on it for support, the cool metal against her heated skin feeling like heaven.
All the while she listened to him. She was far too dizzy to talk but she let his words register inside her mind. Those were words she heard over and over again. So many times she lost count already. The same meaning was behind them: stop. Just stop. Looking up at him, she let him see how tired she was. She was tired of trying. If she wasn’t such a coward, she would have killed herself already. If she didn’t think of her parents, she would’ve done it. “I can’t…push everyone away, huh?” She said, laughing lightly. She opened her mouth to say something but the cab had already arrived. It seemed that the cab driver was on her way to help them if needed be but she resisted the touch of another stranger tonight so she waved him off. The bartender had already opened the door for her. She wanted to be furious with the amount of kindness she was receiving but remained silent, the thought of being in her bed enough reason for her to.
With staggering steps she closed the distance between her and the cab, slowly entering inside. It smelled of liquor and cigarettes. “My purse,” she said, groaning as she put her head in her hands. It was an MCM purse she bought with her own money and inside was something she couldn’t bear to lose. “I left my purse inside. I have to get it.” She pushed past the male, walking — if what she was doing was called walking — towards the club again. A few club goers were on their way inside and she was met with a few whistles. Soojung clenched her teeth, determined to get it back.
AJ could slowly feel her attempts paying off. It seemed that the blond was giving in, that she was starting to see how tired she was of this night. She could feel some slight guilt because she didn't want to seem like her attempts were hinting at something else. Why do you care? The question echoed in her mind furiously before she pushed them out of her mind. Now was not the time to have two strongly emotional women. One was enough. AJ had to stay in control of her feelings with the memories of her mother. Soojung needed someone right now and she wasn't going to ditch her for bad memories. Plus it was dangerous out in this alley beside the club. Too dangerous for a young, attractive woman as herself waltzing around with alcohol on her breath.
Just as she thought that the girl would slide into the cab's seat, she was suddenly causing a commotion over her bag she brought with her. "Ah--" Amber wanted to stop her and tell her to forget about it. She could easily call who was on shift to put it aside to pick up tomorrow. Before she could voice this reasoning, the girl was off towards the club's entrance. "Hey, come back!" For a drunken stagger Soojung had gotten pretty far. The club goers were suddenly turning into a large group, ones that had met up to arrive at the same time. It took forever for the bartender to pass through their bodies. Suddenly her line of sight with the blond was gone. A sigh of slight frustration left her lips as she glanced back. The cab driver had decided to leave. She wouldn't blame the driver for that. Pushing that problem aside she set her sights of trying to find the female.
Though it didn't take that long to find her, the tomboy couldn't help but worry about the girl's safety. She was in a club that was just starting to grow crazy full of bodies--it was around two in the morning, the prime of the bar's night. AJ thanked the fact that the girl was a bright blond, one that could be spotted in the middle of a crowd. She ran past a few people before she caught the arm of Soojung, slightly frustrated and impatient with the female walking away from her. "What are you doing? You should have at least waited for me!" She hissed before keeping the girl close. "Where did you see it last?"

"Look, I know we haven't met yet, but... If there was one dirty thing you would want to say to me and it wasn't socially awkward to, what would it be?"
"Is this a trick question—there are lots of dirty things I’d say to you…and none of them would be socially awkward." She inserted the most awkward wink she could manage towards the other.

Brushing her hair back gently, she tugged a tie from her pocket and secured the strands in a loose ponytail at the back of her head. A laugh slipped out of her at Amber’s little joke and she grinned at the girl, teeth bared and eyes crinkled. “You guys must have been close if you took care of them,” she commented, tilting her head to the side. A small smile curved her lips as she nodded her head in understanding. “Everyone has hardships, your mother was lucky to have a daughter like you,” she added, her hand settling on the girl’s shoulder and brushing the skin with her thumb. “Me? I have a younger brother,” she started and bit at the corner of her lip with a soft sigh. “We’re not very close, actually,” she added, her lips pursed as she shifted her gaze away from her roommate. “I had a busy childhood and then left home pretty early. We never had the chance to really be siblings.”
Her shoulders shrugged as she trailed off, letting out a laugh to shake off the ill feelings. “The dance life is definitely not for the faint of heart,” she replied and laughed again. It was true, she woke up with pains in places she didn’t know could hurt — not to mention the injuries she gave her body. She was the type of person that would push her body to the limits without regard to the damge. “I love it, though, I can’t imagine my life any other way than it is right now,” she said with a fond smile, looking over at AJ and catching catching her just as the woman’s gaze was brought to her face. “That’s another perk of the rigorous workout,” she said teasingly while striking a little pose and gesture her hands along her body. She wasn’t dumb and she didn’t play coy, she knew she had a great body.
Settled comfortably on the counter, she listened to AJ as she spoke. “Bartending has always seemed like fun to me,” she replied once the other was finished speaking. “I mean, I like mixing drinks and you seem like you meet amazing people,” she laughed and grabbed the spatula to flip the pancakes from where she sat. Lifting her gaze back to AJ’s face, she tilted her head and set her weight on her hand. She was still in awe of how attractive AJ really was — the club lighting just didn’t do her justice. But before she was caught gawking, she engaged the girl in conversation again. “What other jobs have you had?” she asked, checking the pancakes and adjusted the heat so they didn’t cook too fast.
"They're really little shits, but we did get along often." Her brows furrowed as she began to talk about her brother. She felt kind of bad for asking about her sibling. "Well with all the technology now there's never a bad time to try and communicate with him." Maybe that's what he was waiting for? She gave Victoria a small assuring smile, noticing that she felt pretty bad for leaving him. "He might be a little upset--or a lot--but if you never try I think that might upset him more." AJ couldn't even dream not talking to her siblings ever again. It would be hard on herself more than it would be to them. Even now it was hard for her not to be by them twenty-four seven though it was good for her. "I'm sure your parents are lucky to have you too. You're beautiful, slim figure, and you're not still living with them--isn't that every parents' dream now?" She tried to end the topic on a light joke, giving a small chuckle.
AJ nodded in total agreement with Victoria. If someone truly wanted to dance they had to be strong both mentally and physically. "I thought of dancing when I was little, but I remembered that my father told me it was for girls. I was...treated very boyishly even back then. I knew he was just kidding, but in the back of my head I knew I wouldn't be able to do it." She scratched her cheek, catching herself rambling and then clearing her throat. "Well I'd be able to do it, but not continue through with it." She broke out into a grin as her eyes were caught from glancing at the female's body. She wasn't about to argue that she wasn't staring at Vic's slim figure--she knew that the female wasn't stupid. "I can tell. I'm sure there's tons of women who die trying to get your figure other than who you dance with." She rubbed at her jaw before resting it on her palm. "I won't lie or play dumb with you. That body looks pretty amazing. No one should be able to say no to you." She winked playfully.
"Oh, it's fun after the hundreth time you've knocked over the drink you're making." The tomboy let out a small laugh, remembering her first few nights. "It was so fast pace my first day that the training felt like it was sped up one thousand times. I couldn't keep up. The other bartender I worked with thought it was hilarious. He said 'I haven't seen such a horrible trainee in a while!'. A lot of people would have taken that offensively. It just helped me calm down. That's when bartending became less stressful." She realized she was rambling once again and returned her attention to Victoria's cooking. "Other jobs? Yeah, I've had tons. Grocery clerk, taking care of public parks, mowing huge ass lawns...you name it, I've probably tried it."
"I'm charmed", she grinned, holding out her hand to meet with the others. "Your name is adorable. Is it short for something?", she asked, still sorting through all her unpacked boxes, and finding a place for them in her assigned dresser. Though, she was almost finished. A lot of roommates seemed to be out at their jobs at the moment. So, she hadn't talked to anyone as of lately.
Taking Sera’s hand and giving it a soft firm shake, she was surprised with the question she was met with. Hardly anyone had asked her if her name was short for something—not that it should really matter. “Uh, yeah, it’s short for my first and middle name.” She left it at that not wanting to expand on that any further. “Still unpacking?”
Sera pursued her lips lightly in a tiny smile as she walked up to the roommate she'd heard called AJ. She saw so many new faces today and was trying to learn everyone's name. This woman's stood out from others, her short hair cute, but also stylishly striking. Sera was also surprised by how muscled and built she was, but maybe that adorable outfit she was wearing. "Hi, i'm Sera", she introduced herself, staring into the other's eyes.
Almost speechless by the sudden woman in front of her, a lopsided grin appeared on the tomboy’s face. “Oh, hello there Sera.” Her name rolled off her tongue as she took in everything about the other female. She had been wanting to greet her days before now, but was almost intimidated by Sera’s beauty. “It’s a pleasure to meet you. My name’s AJ.”

The bartender’s hand brushed against her cheek and she could feel him pushing her hair away. Why was he still here? She asked herself. Most would have left her or taken advantage of her. There have been too many occasions in which both had happened that she was convinced she shouldn’t drink. She turned to look at him as he tugged at her arm. By this time she was racked with an intense headache and dizziness but she could feel that his touch was gentle and careful. She could merely nod at his words, stumbling a bit as she tried to get herself to stand up straight. Had her parents been here, they would have sent their driver to pick her up. Alas, they were in Bali for their wedding anniversary.
Soojung looked at the man beside her, studying his features. She almost reached out to poke his cheek because of how smooth it looked but was stopped when her arm was grabbed. She looked at him dubly, raising a brow. “Yeah…” She whispered quietly, letting him guide her. She felt like such a kid next to him. How old was he anyways? She wondered more and more about the man than she would like to admit because of his simple act of chivalry. Usually, men weren’t as nice unless they wanted something. Soojung did as she was told, slowly sitting down on the cold pavement. She wrapped his jacket more firmly around her, leaning her head against her knees, feeling sick.
There was silence for a few seconds and cool air brushed her cheek, making her shiver. “You need to watch the way you party, you know that?” She heard the bartender say. Looking up slightly, she turned to him, looking at him with a blank expression. He was talking and just talking. A part of her more reasonable side was slowly returning and she could only agree with him. He was right. They were all right. “Yes,” she whispered, not tearing her gaze away from him. “I wanted to get drunk off my ass. Possibly sleep with someone I won’t remember in the morning and wake up naked in another man or woman’s room. Why?” She paused, her eyes turning glassy again. “Because the world is a fucked up place. And it fucked me up real damned good. So good I don’t know who I am anymore.” Soojung turned away from him, gritting her teeth together. She pressed her long fingernails against her palm, allowing the pain to stop the tears. Even if pain was the same reason they appeared in the first place.
She stood up abruptly, taking his jacket off. She was scared of what she might say or do next so it was better that she left. “I’m sober now. My friend’s place is just around the block. They’re probably still there,” she lied. She knew no one in this neighborhood. Folding his jacket neatly — a habit she inherited from her mother — she stretched her arm out and handed it to him. “Thanks for holding my hair and stopping me from embrrassing myself.”
Taking care of Soojung was almost like taking care of a princess. Her attitude was quite stale--at least for now--and being drunk didn't seem to help. It only worsened her mood. Amber was glad that she decided to cooperate and sit down on the pavement to wait for the cab. Why was she doing this? She kept asking herself this question over and over like there was going to be an answer. Flashbacks of her mother's drunken nights returned to her mind before rudely being pushed back. She just wanted Soojung to be safe and not taken advantage of. Even the most independent person drunk could be taken advantage of. AJ wouldn't allow it. Not to anyone...right? She kept noticing that the blond was staring at her and she managed to give a small smile. Though she was drunk and had puked out everything that went into that small stomach of hers, she was rather beautiful. She wondered what would of happened if they met before the drinks. She seemed like an interesting person enough.
All of a sudden there conversation seemed to hit a huge bump in the road. Soojung was now cold and snapping at the bartender. She wasn't expecting to hit such a sensitive topic and so soon. "I--" She was rendered speechless by the girl's words as if they were actual slices of a sword to skin. If only words could kill--that wasn't exactly how it went. Blinking at the movement, AJ reached out but missed the female's arm. "Hey, wait--" She watched as the blond folded her jacket and handed it out to her. "That's not a problem. I wouldn't want vomit in my hair either." She said rather bluntly before standing up. "You did however throw up on my jacket and you're not sober after five seconds." She sounded like she was scolding the other and pursed her lips. "Look, I'm sorry if I hit some kind of sensitive topic with you, but I don't want you to go home by yourself. It's not that I don't trust you I just..." She trailed off with her eyebrows furrowing. "Just let me help. Please? It'll help me sleep better tonight."
She highly doubted that her friends would be around the corner or around the corner past the other corner or so on. Her eyes shifted to the road wishing that the cab would hurry up and arrive. She needed to stall until it pulled up. If it did maybe the other would change her mind. "I understand the world is a fucked up place, but you know there are people out there willing to .. make it a little less fucked up?" AJ rubbed the back of her neck, trying to reason with Soojung by her own experiences in life. "That's what I've learned anyway. You can't push everyone away." Well, she didn't know what Soojung's actual problem was but it seemed to be involved with another person. AJ was quite the observer at her job. It was a pastime other than making drinks. Before she could get in another word the cab pulled up. Great timing. "Come on. It's one ride and I'm taking you home to your bed. Plus it's free--at least this one time." She opened the back door and turned to the girl. "You're already here anyway."

Her chest heaved slightly. She was not sleeping, though she wish she could sleep here instead of the foreign house she moved into. She wanted to go back home but home would mean memories coming back stronger. Everywhere she looked in her neighborhood, she could feel her. She could see her. The both of them dozing off on the couch while doing homework…walking to and from school. Their first night together. The alcohol wasn’t doing its specialty of making her forget this time. It only made her sad. One tear fell and then next another. She ws crying again.
"Come on."
Soojung opened her now glassy eyes, watching as the bartender she met earlier wrapped his jacket around her. Unlike most men she met, he was gentle. Soojung couldn’t help but study him curiously. All men were gentlemen in the beginning. She knew that much. Even her own father said so. She stood up, following after. Enough ruckus was caused by her tonight. The night was cool and she understood why the stranger had given her his jacket. She brought it closer around her small frame. Her world was turning and she felt bile rising to her throat. Before she could answer, she ran towards a corner and bent over, spilling everything she ate against the pavement.
When she was finished, she bent down on her knees, feeling her head pounding. Without much thinking, she wiped her mouth with the sleeve of his jacket, resting her forehead against her knees thereafter. She moaned in discomfort, feeling bile rise up to her throat again. She stood up and placed a hand against the graffiti’ed wall, once again throwing up, long forgetting she was with someone.
There wasn't any answer coming from the other, but before she knew it -- there was vomit. Everywhere. AJ wrinkled her nose and gave Soojung her space as she continued to spill everything from the night. There was a stench in the air, but the bartender did her best to ignore it. Eventually she had made her way over so she could move the girl's hair out of the way. It was rather long and she didn't want any .. particles to get in it. Once it looked like she was done, AJ tugged on her arm, being careful of what she might find if she grabbed the wrong thing. "I'll get a cab." It was a high risk that she was willing to take. If she had to throw up the driver would just have to deal or pull over quick.
Pulling out her phone, she pressed her speed dial, a cab number. She pressed the phone to her ear and it was cool because of the air that had hit it. When the cab agency answered, she gave them the directions--luckily they had been close to a street sign. It was a good feet away, but Amber gave them the address without any stutters. After she hung up, she gave a soft sigh, grabbing Soojung's arm once again. "Alright, we've got to move a little bit more and then wait for the cab. Think you can do that?" She slowly guided the other to where the street sign was. "Here, sit down." AJ made her sit on the edge of the sidewalk not wanting balance to become an enemy to the girl. It seemed like this girl was going to have a rough morning with her friends and her killer hangover.
"You need to watch the way you party, you know that?" The cab agency said it would take about twenty to thirty minutes to send out to that location. Keeping her distance, Amber sat down a few feet away from Soojung. It was just better this way. "There's a way to party without getting hammered--or at least this hammered. There's a way to get drunk and actually have a good time." She stared at the other for a long minute and tapped her lips. "Unless you're upset about something and want to forget it. Is that why you drank like that tonight?"
Oh, what makes you say that? (/ her eyebrows raises slightly in confusion before she chuckles as you turn and swims, her eyes closing as she stays to float on the water, her palms against the water )
I can just feel it. ( /looks over and sees the confused look on your face, laughing before swimming around some more ) You'll see.

The table smelled distinctly of liquor underneath a layer of some type of cleaning brand in lemon. It was cool and in contrast to her burning skin. She sighed in content, opening her eyes slightly as she heard the words of an unknown person utter the same words she did earlier. She tuned her head and rested her chin on her hands, looking up at the…male in front of her. Through heavy lidded eyes she registered his seemingly feminine features. Her hands were elegant, her fingers long. Soojung wondered briefly if he would agree to being a model for her. His features were so distinct that she wanted it on her canvas. Even in her drunken stupor, she never once stopped thinking about art. “Yes, traitors. They all are,” she said slowly, reaching for the cup, messily drinking it. She wiped some of the water off of her chin and pointed the plastic cup at the bartender. “They always leave me…like this. Ya see…they’re disgusted. Ha! I’m disgusting…” She stumbled over her words here and there, barely making sense.
She sat up to her full height, body swaying from side to side. She struggled to upon her eyes, blinking rapidly. “I told you they were traitors!” Her body tipped forward and she slid off of the stool, hitting her hip against the stool beside her. The pain she did not feel one bit. She continued to speak, voice loud and obnoxious. Had she been sober right now, she would have cowered in shame and never showed her face in public ever. However, she was not and how lucky she was that she will be able to forget the whole night when she falls asleep. “They left me because they think I’m going to do nasty stuff! Ha! As if…as if I’d touch them. Any of them!” A drunken laugh slipped past her cherry lips as she threw the cup. It landed on the table and disappeared on the other side of it. “I only have eyes for her!”
After that last statement, Soojung made her way back to their table, collapsing against the two-seater sofa. “So fucking hot…” She whined, starting to take off her blazer. “You guys are so loud!” She shouted, barely audible because of the speakers blaring party music. Blazer completely forgotten on the dirty floor, she nuzzled her cheek against the leather of the couch, closing her eyes.
The bartender was pleased to see Soojung drinking the water. This time she caught what the latter was saying. "Ah, yeah. So they did ditch you--" Everything seemed to spiral out of control after that. The blond went from observing her and talking to screaming and trying to move. Something that she would probably be feeling the next morning since she was stumbling and hitting things all over the place. A sigh left her lips as she looked at the clock. Thirty minutes. She couldn't handle that though. She was too worried about that blond... Should she even be worried? It's not like she came here with AJ in the first place. She called in her coworker to cover the rest of her shift to which he complied willingly. AJ had had a long night and he could tell that she was ready to go home. Within minutes he had arrived. "Thanks again." She reminded him before going off to find Soojung. It wasn't that hard since she seemed to be passed out on a couch.
"Come on," The boyish female murmured as she stood the girl up before wrapping her jacket around her shoulders. "Let's get you home...and don't struggle." She warned the slim girl before moving towards the exit of the club. Seconds later cool night air brushed along their faces as they were outside. The air felt great to Amber since she had been trapped at the club for a long while. The smell of sweat and liquor took a toll on her stomach at some point in time.
"I know you're not really feeling .. sober, but you live at the candy house, right?" She started towards the direction of the candy shop. "If not you can crash in my bed with me anyway." She knew that her words were probably not reaching the blond, but it was worth a shot to tell her. "You'll be in a nice bed soon so don't you worry. I've got you."

"Yah, Jung Soojung. Don’t you think that’s enough?"
"Yeah…we have no idea where your new place is and you can’t show us if you’re going to be like that."
Soojung ignored her friends’ words. At their table she already consumed a dozen mojitos and two shots of tequila. She held a glass of vodka in her hand, waving a dismissive hand at their endless lectures. Of course she knew. She knew perfectly well what alcohol was going to do to her. And she was willinng to let it do its job. Despite their requests of her to stop and to sit down so she can sober up, she stood up still, bringing her hands in the air. She shouted a very enthusiastic, “Let’s dance!” and sashayed drunkenly towards the dance floor. Bodies slick with sweat grinded against each other, making out with strangers that they will fuck later in the dirty bathroom at the back of the club. She smiled flirtatiously at one girl, wagging a finger for her to approach her.
They danced. Song after song they let their hands roam against each other’s clothed bodies. They made out and Soojung felt sick in her stomach but she was far too drunk to pull away. She let the girl whisper sweet nothings in her ear, a man walking behind her, grabbing her hips as he grinded against her behind. Soojung immediately recoiled, pushing them both away. She pushed past more bodies, feeling slightly claustrophobic. When she finally reached the table she and her friends had ordered, they already left. They paid for their drinks and food and left Soojung all alone. As always. They were scared of her. She was a hundred percent certain they knew her true sexual orientation. So as much as they loved her, they couldn’t help but be cautious around her when she was drunk. Especially with the way she was.
"Traitors!" She shouted, mumbling nothings as she staggered towards the bar. Sitting heavily on the bar stool, she rested her head and arms against the table, closing her eyes. "They’re all traitors, I tell you," she mumbled.
"Thanks for covering a double, AJ." One of the waitresses said to the bartender. She gave a small salute with the two of her fingers. "It's not a problem. I need the money anyway and it seems people are full of interesting surprises tonight." The last bit was made to joke. The waitress smiled and pat the woman on her arm before walking off to clean some more tables. AJ glanced at the clock noticing that she had only been there for nine hours. She was supposed to have left at about five hours ago. Their shifts were short but they usually worked every day except for two.
Just one more hour, her thoughts clouded her head as she absentmindedly wiped at the glasses behind the counter. She was now entering the slower hour of the night where most of the drunks were on the dance floor and not caring about the bar so much. Every once and a while someone would walk up for a shot or a mixed drink, but it was constant.
Suddenly a blond wandered over to the counter, muttering something barely audible over the faint bass coming from the dancefloor. AJ put her glasses up where they were supposed to before she wandered over to the girl, throwing her dish towel over her shoulder. "Traitors?" That was the only word she could catch from the drunken girl. She remembered when the blond had walked in. There were other people with her--but where did they run off to? Pursing her lips, she turned back to her glasses and grabbed a plastic one for safety measures. This girl looked like she was out of her mind drunk. She filled it with water and placed it in front of her. "It's probably a good idea for you to drink this." She spoke calmly over the music, having grown used to it from countless shifts before. She felt like she knew this girl before coming to work. Her thoughts shifted to the Candy house. There was a big chance that she lived there with her.
Lots of ladies were flying through the doors lately, so AJ couldn't remember if she was one of them. "What happened to your friends? I saw them when you walked in." She tried to strike some kind of chit chat with the woman in front of her that seemed to be completely out of it. This was kind of a surprise to th bartender. She usually didn't judge people based on their looks, but the blond didn't look like the drunken type. Her other friends did, but they had left before they had the chance to even drink. Some kind of friends. "Do you have a way to get home?" She asked with slight concern in her voice. If anything she could drop her off when her shift was done. Forty-five minutes to go.
