The weather felt really nice, and she was more than happy to pick this day to go out with her friend, Sooyoung. The two of them have been really good friends, they got closer and closer as time passes by. They were very close – too close that she was already questioning herself about their friendship. Is it pretty normal to miss a friend? Although they just haven’t seen each other for a few days? Is it normal that she wanted to spend time with her more and more? That she actually couldn’t resist to not text or call her in a day? Jiyeon was left confused with her own feelings, just because this is the first time happened to her – the first time she had these kinds of feelings for a girl.
Jiyeon decided to wear something comfortable today, a long-sleeve checkered polo that was left unbuttoned with a white tank top inside, black denim shorts along with a comfy sneakers. After applying a few makeup on her face – mascara, eyeliner, foundation, red lipstick. She was ready to go, and she finished just in time as she heard the sound of the door bell. She took a peek from her window, “I’m coming!” she yelled out, giving Sooyoung a warm smile before she went back to her room, grabbing everything she needed. – keys, wallet, mobile phone. Not even bothering to bring a bag as she didn’t felt like bringing one. And so she made her way out of her room and towards the front door. “Let’s go!” she managed to say as soon as she opened the door, lips curving into a thin smile.
Walking over to their garage, she led the girl to her car, getting ahead inside so she could open the door for the younger female from the inside and as soon as she finally got in, she started the engine. “Do you want to eat first before going into the movies or – wait a second, what time slot are we getting again? I totally forgot.”
Jiyeon’s and Sooyoung’s relationship had developed since they had met. Awkward at first, with Sooyoung seeing the only girl as just a friend of her foster sister, but they had easily clicked and became friends easily. And now, Sooyoung had this weird feeling running around her mind and body, this thing that made her feel attracted –at least she thought that’s what it was– to the older girl. She just found her incredibly pretty, and nice, and talented, and interesting, and everything. She had thought at first that she admired the older girl, specially since she was on her way to become an artist like Sooyoung hoped to be in the future, but she had then realized that it was a different feeling, one that she had never felt before.
As she waited for Jiyeon to go out of the apartment, Sooyoung mulled over all of this, her heartbeat rate slightly increasing at the thought of spending time with the other. Once she was out of the door, she smiled widely at her and followed her to the car. “I’m not sure myself.” She replied with a small chuckle. “I think 5.30? Sometime around then, that’s for sure, but it might be 5.20, or 5.40 or something, but definitely around 5.30.” She smiled sheepishly after her short rambling. “I had lunch quite late, though, so I’m not too hungry.” She added after a moment of thought, brows and lips slightly scrunched in thought.

It was a nice spring day, not too hot and not too cold, the kind of day Sooyoung loved most. It was nice to be able to go out into the street wearing just shorts and a t-shirt and not being cold, but not having to worry about melting under the sun. It was a shame that days like this didn’t come more often, though, and so Sooyoung usually liked to enjoy them as much as she could. Her plan for the day wasn’t one that took much advantage of the nice weather, but still it was a really nice plan.
With a soft smile on her face, Sooyoung picked out her outfit from her closet and spread it on the bed: simple jean shorts and a flowery, flow-y long blouse that covered her shorts and, depending on the angle, made it seem like she wasn’t wearing pants. Paired up with some nice sandals and her trusty leather backpack, it made for a rather nice outfit. Sooyoung put it on and applied some make-up on as she looked at her reflection on the mirror: just a little bit of concealer under her eyes and some rosy-tinted lip balm to make her look slightly more awake and generally brighter. With a satisfied smile, she made her way out of the room she shared with her foster sister (who, thankfully, was out, or she would have surely made fun of Sooyoung for getting so dressed up just to hang out with a friend).
As she got out of the house, she stopped for a moment to enjoy the sun shining on her skin, warming it up slightly. With a contented sigh, she made her way to Jiyeon’s house, just a couple of blocks away. Jiyeon and Sooyoung had hit it off the moment they met (Jiyeon being friends with Sooyoung’s foster sister), despite the three-year age gap. For Sooyoung, though, it was a bit more than just friendship that she felt for the other girl. Sure, it had started out as friendship, but as time passed, Sooyoung had started to first admire and then slowly fallen in love with her. Of course, she had kept this to herself, because no one knew that she liked girls and not boys (Sooyoung herself hadn’t known until very recently) and she was afraid of how the fact that she was a lesbian would influence in her and her sister being taken in by families.
After a few minutes, she finally arrived at the older girl’s house and she happily ringed the bell, slightly bouncing on the balls of her feet as she waited for Jiyeon to answer.

a new home ✖✖ joy&jinri
Jinri was lounging on the couch in a pair of shorts and a box shirt. It was her first day off in a while and it was nice to just relax. Her legs were curled under her as she turned the next page of the thriller novel she’d been planning to start for weeks. She was so gripped that she barely noticed the door open until she heard a voice. Startled, she put the book down next to her and stood up to greet the young woman.
The girl in front of her was taller than average, but still a little shorter than her. Most striking of all were her dark doe eyes and the green tips of her hair. That, and her lovely outfit. Was she staring? Oh gosh she was. Her cheeks coloured, especially realising how much of a slob she looked.
“Hi, I’m Jinri,” she said quietly, fiddling with the hem of her coffee stained t-shirt, “it’s nice to meet you. Sorry about this,” she gestured to herself, “I haven’t had a day off in two weeks.” Remembering her manners, she bowed back to the young woman.
“I hope you feel welcome and comfortable here, can I get you a drink?”
Sooyoung was no stranger to hellos. She had always been a relatively shy girl, more of an introverted, and although she was easy-going and could strike up a conversation with almost anyone, getting to really know her required a bit more effort. She had a lot of experience in people in her life being just passing figures and, after a first few years of hoping to find someone she could totally open up, she had given up and pretty much retreated into herself. She just hoped that coming into this incredibly nice new house would be a good step for her, and a tiny part of her had started to hope to find that one person again.
When the other girl stood up, Sooyoung was slightly taken aback by her height. Sooyoung herself was a relatively tall girl, and she was used to most people being smaller than her. It was a nice surprise, though, specially when she looked at the face of the girl and saw how cute she was. The girl didn’t say anything for a moment though, and Sooyoung looked down at her feet, feeling rather self-conscious as the other girl just looked at her.
When she heard talking, she looked up with a soft smile. “Nice to meet you Jinri. Don’t worry about it!” She added with a little chuckle. “Oh, that must be nice -getting a day off, I mean, not working two weeks without day offs, is that even legal? I don’t think you should be working that much, should you?” She blabbered away for a few seconds, a tendency of her, specially when she was nervous. “Oh my god, I’m blabbering, aren’t I? I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to.” She added, a nervous bit of her lips accompanying her words.
“Oh, that would be lovely, thank you!” She replied with a wide smile. “It’s so warm outside, some cold water would be so nice.”
