woman listening, graphite, 2016 #portrait #graphitedrawing #originalartwork Dear Fellow Citizens, On the night before this election, I'm not going to try and convince you that Hillary Rodham Clinton deserves your vote. I'm not going to try and convince you she isn't corrupt (or any more so than anyone else in our oligarchical system) or that having a President who identifies as a woman wouldn't feel like a personal triumph to lifelong feminist me. I'm not going to argue that she's more progressive than she is (she isn't) or that I'm not worried about some of her policies (I am). I truly understand the desire to vote for a third party candidate. I can see how one might argue that it's the only way to vote their conscience. I get it. I really really do. The issues that I fight for are more closely aligned to Stein than any other candidates' platform, by a long shot and we get one vote, right? Make your voices, heard, etc. But, as tomorrow approaches, I have to be honest with myself and acknowledge that I'm not a perfect progressive or justice-seeker or ally, when it comes down to it. I buy bottle water when I'm thirsty and don't have my water bottle with me. I drink Coke even though I know the company is super problematic, because sometimes it's that or beer and my sobriety is going to win every single time. Sometimes I drive instead of walk because I'm tired or taxi instead of using public transportation because I just want to get home. I've worked for a corporate retail store in order to pay bills. I have bought clothes that likely were made in sweatshops, because that's what I could afford or that's what fit my plus-size body or because I felt attractive in it, for once. I could go on and on with all the ways I'm a "bad progressive"  and all the moments I compromise for one reason or another, but the truth is: I don't know anyone who is able to live perfectly all the time and always make a choice that never has consequences we don't intend. If you know anyone who lives that way, they must have a financial/social/situational privilege that the people Trump will target DO NOT HAVE... or are magical unicorn sorcerers or something. So, after all of this,
