Soft pitter patters of rain pounded on the window. Pale hands gently leafed through a well worn book, the title, âThe Hanged Manâs McGuffinâ in plain sight. A cooling cup of coffee rested in front of the reader, looking a little untouched - maybe a few sips here and there. It was one of his rare days off from training, and Kaneki found himself just relaxing in a nearby coffee shop; the artificial ghoul found himself getting a little stir crazy by just staying there. The seat across from him was empty, yet somehow, even if Kaneki himself was engrossed in his book, the empty seat looked inviting.
