*waves at you* Hello, reader, from beyond the "Keep reading" line! It's me, Kni!!

As you may know, my beloved work- Leona Crossing- was finished sometime last year in August of 2025. Wow, it really has been so long. It's a bit crazy to think about.

Anyway, ever since then, I don't deny that I've been a bit burnt out on the "Leona Crossing" series. I had ambitious plans of starting the second book of the trilogy in the same year, but I just couldn't get the groove going. No matter what I did, the starts of the chapters felt imperfect, my skills as a writer felt weak, and college had me in a chokehold. It has almost been a year since then, and I still had discomforts about starting "again". Like, c'mon, long fics take too damn long to write! Do I want to write another one and spend another year or two bringing my beloved ideas to fruition?!

apparently, the answer is yes somehow.

I've recently returned to the first draft of book two, and I knew the intro just wasn't right. So, I've been thinking about it, and got a new idea of how I wanted the book to start, this the drabble you see above. I think the pacing is better now, and I've alluded to elements that will be addressed in the third book in this first chapter. I hope you all keep watching over me kindly as I exercise my writing muscles and prepare for the return of my beloved leoide series. It truly is a labor of love I want to finish

waking up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night: I FORGOT A MOM

I'm not super happy with how she came out -- in particular I think I broke style a little too much -- but at this point I need to call her done and maybe get back to her another day! in the meantime, the collection of moms is complete (for now) and there can maybe even be...a roadtrip round two??? 🚐
