The Standard | Copenhagen
The Standard in Copenhagen is the latest venture by renowned Danish entrepreneur Claus Meyer, jazz musician Niels Lan Doky and Danish-Italian design duo GamFratesi. They set out on a journey to transform a former custom house into a “new cultural and gastronomic landmark” with three world-class restaurants and a jazz club. The Standard is located in central Copenhagen housed in an iconic historical building originally designed by architect and royal buildings inspector, Kristoffer Nyrop Varming. The building dates back to 1937.
“The interior of The Standard has been completely transformed as a mix of modern, understated Nordic design with subtle details and international touches. An eclectic mix of soft lines, natural light, exclusive materials, classic designs and brand new icons create a unique ambience. GamFratesi has carefully chosen everything to underline the building’s history, iconic look and vision” http://www.yellowtrace.com.au

Hello Square
Hello Square is a Digital Media Agency based in Durban's creative precinct Station Drive. The agency is headed up by Wayne Manning who is super passionate and enthusiast about design. Wayne was keen to create an environment that embodied that enthusiasm. The main requirement was to create an interactive space which would encourage collaboration amongst the designers.
Running with this concept I created a multi purpose wooden bench which wraps around the space doubling as a seating, working or even sleeping (we all have those kind of days) surface. The idea was to give the designers freedom to move around the space instead of confining them to their designated desk areas daily. When the dreaded designer block hit it would encourage team discussions where issues could be tackled together or even just a simple change of perspective to stimulate creativity.
The space received some hype on social media so instead of using professional photographs I thought it would be rad to show the office through Instagram snaps from the agency as well as some of Durban's public who have interacted with the space
OMG | Rad Pad
Oh my gasshhh I have no words, I am completely and utterly besotted with this interior designed by Kristina Johansson. Honestly I am in love with every single element- the art, the furniture, the accessories, everything just fits so perfectly!
I really love the quirky decor! I mean a stack of mannequin hands under a cloche, come on how random and rad it that!

Can I sit with you?
Jeepers talk about perfectly put together. These are some of the greatest designed dining areas I have seen, I could sit in them for hours.

&tradition
"We want to connect with the old masters, while giving space to new designers to define what will become future classics. We see a kinship between the old masters, who were avant-garde in their time, and new designers creating the ground-breaking icons of today". Martin Kornbek Hansen, founder of &tradition.
&tradition is a Danish design company established in 2010 with the founding principle being tradition tied to innovation. The unique library of furniture and lighting spans from the 1930s to the present day and includes designs by internationally renowned designers. “All of our designers have a unique vision and their designs have the capacity to reach people in their everyday lives.” says Kornbek Hansen. The stable of designers that we work with are connected by a desire to push manufacturing techniques and to find innovative uses for materials.
“Our vision is to carry on the tradition of fine craftsmanship as well as introducing our design heritage to a new generation of conscious consumers,” says Kornbek Hansen.

Currently Crushing On | Bloomingville
When searching for inspiration Bloomingville is never far from my thought process. Bloomingville was founded by the super talent Danish couple Betina & Simon Stampe. They create, discover and collect beautiful objects for the home and garden. The concept behind their brand is to create a unique mixture of raw products with a nostalgic Scandinavian twist and reproductions of fantastic pieces from times past inspired by French brocante. Have a look at their AW Catalogue here and see for yourselves.

Its an Art | Olsson&Jensen
So early this year I made a promise to be on here regularly blogging about everything that I find cool and keeps me inspired daily... Well lets just say up until now I have failed drastically with this being my second post of the year! But today after stumbling upon this Swedish brand olsson & jensen I just could not stop myself wanting to share their work.
“it does not matter if it is classic, bohemian, fastidious, romantic, modern, chic, rustic, simple, crude or elegant as long as we ourselves are happy.” This is the motto which olsson & jensen design by and damn they do it so well. The ability they have to juxtapose vintage ornate furnishings, paired with the mid-century modern, beautiful rustic styling, muted colours and bohemian touches is just pure talent. The pictures below are from the latest catalogue 2014/2015, see more here http://www.olssonjensen.com/katalog.html
Do enjoy..
Its a new year | 2014
Happy new year! Its a new year with new resolutions and top of my list is to pursue my passion of interior design.
2013 was a great year where many personal milestones were met and unforgettable experiences encountered. But this year I'm focusing my attention to my career. My goal is to create interiors which provide the users with unforgettable experiences within them.
Stay tuned!
Lolita / Story of success
I stumbled across these pictures of Lolita Cafe and instantly fell in love. Lolita, located in Ljubljana Slovenia, is the result of a collaboration between Unique Hospitality Concept, hospitality operator Kaval Group and Trije Arhiteki. Lolita Cafe was completed in 2011, and this year it was nominated for Best International Interior in the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards.
I am really taken by the flirty feminine aesthetic which is nicely balanced with a muted palette and bold accents of black that somehow manage to tone down the feminine feel. The multiple rich layers in the space are a real feast for the eyes. I love the large format herringbone floor stained in a multitude of colours but there is no doubt that the giant graphic mural applied to the ceiling is the absolute hero of this space. The space is modern and yet pays homage to the past, it’s sleek but also opulent and sophisticated.

Honeymooning in Amsterdam
honeymooning in Paris
My husband is a pretty incredible guy I have to admit. He recently took me on a honeymoon of a lifetime. I was able to tick many of my most wanted to see pieces of architecture off my bucket list. Being able to stand in front of these buildings that I had only read about and studied in books was the most incredible experience. I found a gem of a guy xo

Retro, harmonic, two toned, graphic, bold, elegant, are just a few words that come to mind.
Black and White Beauties
I'm so completely drawn to black and white interiors. There is just something so simply and raw to the use of minimal colour. I love the way these interiors are styled perfectly using hints of raw woods but not overdoing it.

Can I move in Please
I came across this gorgeous home on Lotta Agaton blog this morning and felt obligated to share its beauty. This eye catching home is featured in the July issue of Residence Magazine, photographed by Pia Ulin and styled by Lotta Agaton. I particularly love the balance between the classic Swedish country style, the design classics and highlights of edgy accessories.
