Oneshot: Mermaid au
(Merman Jin x Reader)
"Is that a mermaid?" you ask aloud wondering if you saw right, not only because you're tired patroling the shores and saving some sea animals but also because, though merfolks are often seen around this part of the Ocean, no merfolk has ever dared to come near the shores. Its obviously because of those people that capture them to do various unspeakable things to them.
You hesitate a little before walking over in fast paces. If you're right about it being a merfolk, then you gotta get them into water asap, you can't risk a life by hesitating and wondering. You get near the shining creature to discover that its actually a merman and not a mermaid. The merman has a face that could enrapture even the people of higher realms. With beautiful peach blossom eyes that curves at the end with a slight flick, lined by long straight brows, sculpted nose bridge and a pair of luscious full lips, he really is one of the masterpieces among the God's creation. He makes people want to protect his beauty as well as violate him for themselves at the same time.
It is a picture perfect scene of peerless beauty, that is, if the said beauty is not glaring at you in vigilance with a scowl to boot. You carefully approach him, "Hey, are you stuck?" which prompted him to throw handful of sand at you.
"......" You wonder whether you sounded like such a creep that the beauty before you threw sand to get rid of you.
You dust off the sand and shout, "Calm down! Easy easy, I won't hurt you." You ask him softly while he freezes with wide eyes, "Can you...understand me? I really hope you do because I never conversed with your merfolks to know your language". He gently nods, "Thank god, now I don't have to worry about alarming you", you try to make yourself sound friendly and soft, you don't wanna be pelted with sand again.
"Who are you?" the merman asks.
"Ah I'm Y/n, I belong to the nearby village and I'm in charge of patroling the sea borders today, you see, we are still not on good terms with neighbouring Empires as the war just concluded", you painfully remember how the unceasing war that has raged for over many years made you and many other young people abandoned at temples and churches as babies in their swaddle clothes. People are all for themselves when there's not even a grain to eat and a doom of invading forces at any given time, that includes your own blood.
You shake your head to get rid of the pessimistic thoughts and smile, "What's your name, Mister Merman?"
"Jin", the beautiful merboy uttered. You nearly squealed at his melodious voice. No wonder merfolks confuse even the bravest of sailors. Their voice is like a mellow wine that just wants you to get drunk and drown. You saved several merfolk before but none of them spoke, you always thought they can't speak, just sing but here you go, you are proven wrong now.
You smile widely, "Are you stuck on the sand, Jin?" you queried, "Let me help you into the water".
"Are you going to capture me?", Jin blinked his eyes filled with distrust.
"No, I am not going to capture you".
"Are you killing me?"
"No! I won't", you can feel your head throbbing.
"You're eating me then?"
"No no no, I am definitely not eating you either", you continued with a laugh, "I mean...unless you want me to 'eat you'?"
Jin trembled and grabbed a handful of sand and a huge shell. You hurried to rectify yourself, "Oh my, I'm sorry, its not that, gosh its not literal eating! No dirty jokes with merfolk huh, I get it now. Come on drop that shell, you can throw the sand all you want instead!"
"Why would I even eat you, man you're half human, I am not a cannibal. So just drop the shell, let's talk peacefully", you can already imagine a hole in your head seeing Jin grip the shell in hand harder. He utters, "Immortality".
You quickly grasp what he is implying, "Immortality...I don't even have the patience to live out my current life, don't worry I really don't wanna live forever...it is lonely...", you sigh, it really is lonely to live in raging war times in the cold shelters with no one to rely on.
Jin can easily see the shift in your mood and with slight concern in his eyes, finally relax his death grip on the shell, you take the cue and gently maneuvour him towards the sea, you watch as he gains strength the moment the Ocean embraces him. You watch as he joyfully spun a round with the evening sun showering gentle rays on him which showcased his beautiful shimmery tail and his broad shoulders accompanied by the narrow waist. You stand in the waist deep water, mesmerised by Jin's graceful movements in the water when suddenly he swam towards you and grabbed your hands to pull you a little deep into the water and smiled cutely.
You grab his shoulders for support as you watch the sun illuminate his skin into a soft golden glow, "You really are beautiful...", you gaze into his eyes and slowly admit to yourself that you would do everything the man before you asks you to, just to see him smile again, "No wonder people loves to catch you guys and keep you in their fish tanks...at least in the best cases." Jin frowns and playfully stops holding you which made you cling to his torso to not sink.
You hastily shout, "Whoa don't drop me into the water! I can't breathe in there, if I drown I don't even have money for physicians".
"Money?" Jin frowns, "Yep, money, those stuff that only those goddamn nobles have, unfortunately I am not one of them", you explain. You suddenly ask, "Don't tell me you came here for one of those noble princesses?"
"Boy, let me tell you, you'll end up in pain and poof you go seafoam and she will end up in bed and poof will become a mom, of course with another guy!" Jin looks at you startled and you frown, "So you really came for one of those young princesses? Wow I really wasted my efforts on saving Mister soon-to-be seafoam", you mock him as you feel angry and disappointed that he came here for a girl, which doesn't seem like to be you.
You sulk as Jin says, "The one that turned into seafoam is one of my ancestors". You gape at him with your mouth wide open as you just thought the old kitchen grandma in the temple was pulling your legs with this story.
Then you wondered, "If you knew it, why did you still come to the shore?" The shore where being caught may be a best scenario, people can outright eat him believing his flesh could grant them immortality, just as he feared earlier. "To see the one who sings to the sea everyday", Jin replied.
"True, a lot of people do come here and sing but how would you find the one person?" you mutter, "Why do you wanna find them, did they do something bad?" you hoped they did.
"No, I like her very much, since I have first heard her...", Jin admits bashfully while flicking tail back and forth and you thought maliciously, you wished the beautiful merboy won't find that person and ask,
"Aren't you afraid you'll become 'you know' the seafoam?"
"No, I will tell her my feelings straight, not like my ancestors".
"What if she doesn't like you back?", you can't stop your vicious implications.
"Haha, who would not like my face? I will seduce them~" Jin replied cheerfully while twirling his strong tail.
You subconsciously tightened your arms around Jin when you heard Jin continue, "I also saw her save several baby merfolks today and got some information on her although I couldn't see her face, I can no longer be scared and watch from so afar that I couldn't even make out her face, so I came to the shore to find her but got stuck in the sand".
You stared at him dumbfounded, it was you, you sang near the ocean often, the only place that didn't mock and betray you but so did most people. But only you loved to save the sea animals stranded on the rock cliff between the edge of the shore and ocean and it was indeed you that saved several baby merfolk this morning. Jin continued, "Those merfolks were my younger brothers and the youngest kookie told me they got injured while saving them, he gave her his healing amulet and so I rushed over to the shore, I just need to find the person with the amulet but I cannot find her..."
You wanted to laugh like a madwoman, "Go on," you said. Jin frowned at you, "I said go on...seduce me," you whispered in Jin's ears watching him tremble, he looked at you with wide eyes, "You..."
You smirk while feeling happy all over, "Yeah, its me," you wait for a response that never came making you angry yet dumbfounded, "Wow you don't believe me, see this, the amulet and the wound I got from the cliff this morni--"
The rest of the sentence got swallowed in Jin's lips along with your anger and frustration. Jin gripped your waist and pulled in your body which was already in his arms more deeper into his embrace. The second he saw you, he already felt a sense of belonging in you, like a lighthouse that welcomes the weary sailors back into their homelands with the warmth and rays of lights. But he didn't want to mistake his beloved in a moment of impulse so he persisted, but when you grabbed his shoulders and called him beautiful while gazing into his brown eyes, he just wanted to forget everything and just have you. He recalled the singing voice that beckoned his soul, the kindness of that person he longed for and looked at the you on his arms, he wondered if he is mistaken somewhere, how can he fall for two different person?
But the moment you asked him to seduce you in a teasing tone, he understood, he just fell for the same person twice. Right now he wanted nothing more than to merge you, his beloved into him, he moved his plump lips on your lips and sucked hard on your tongue all the while supporting your body against him in the beautifully shimmering sea water. He curled strong tail around your legs to completely possess you, at this instance he wanted to hide his beloved into him so that nobody could hurt her, not war nor loneliness. He pried open your lips with his tongue to battle your tongue on a war, a war you gladly took part in and finally ended the long passionate kiss a bite on your lower lip.
You pant heavily against Jin's chest, desperately trying to catch your breath, "So you're really seducing me?" you gasp when the seductive merman answers it with a kiss to your collarbone. "I love you, Y/n. I hope you spend a millennia with me," he murmurs sweetly while peppering kisses from your throat to your shoulders. He licks the lovebites he made on your shoulders to soothe them.
"I am not an immortal though?" you giggle. He smirks in reply, "My partner will share my tail, fins and lifespan, the answer is in the bed activities," he bites your earlobes and whisper slowly. You humph while blushing, "Is there even bed in your home? Its flooded with water". He squeezes your waist and asks, "Wanna try?" you hit his chest shyly and he kisses your forehead, "Wanna be Mister not future seafoam's bride?"
You smile softly, it's really been a long, beautiful day, "I love you Jin and Yes~" Jin kisses your eyes and whisper,
"You'll spend the eternal life beside me Y/n, I promise you'll never be lonely again".
"And I promise I will never let you become a seafoam ever," you whisper back and cuddle your man in the warm rays of evening sun while the azure green waves lulls you both gently.
P.s. Hey guys, hope y'all had a great day~ I went to a job interview today at a place that's very long from my home that I should be tired as heck right now but instead my mind just wants churn out the words. I'm even more wordy today lol.
Btw guys, who do think of when you hear luscious plump lips? Jimin, Jin or both?
