OK you know what another thing. I know lance being a furry is funny and all, and i don’t think there is any malicious intent there (on the part of the creators), but please be considerate of people who are uncomfortable by it. Its not the first time a brown kid was portrayed as an animal, while the pale kid is the delicate prince/princess. Its fucking weird and frankly a lil sus that so many of you are hyping that shit up and so dont silence those who don’t want any part of it/are uncomfortable by it. I know a lot of people don’t see it that way and never intended for it to be that way, but we know this fandom is gross and there are some who do want it to be that way. Don’t tell people they’re ‘overreacting’ or ‘finding problems where there aren’t any’ cos that is a very common and disgusting stereotype, and brown people have every fucking right to be wary of it.

30 Days of LGBTQ+ Musicians- June 2nd: Wendy Carlos

Wendy Carlos (b. 1939) is an incredible trans woman and one of my all time favorite composers. One of her most influential compositions “Switched on Bach” helped to normalize electronic synths in pop culture. She performed many of Bach’s pieces to prove that the synth was a valid instrument and not some sort of “lesser” instrument used only in labs (at that time, synths were incredible expensive and bulky, often taking up entire rooms. They were only commonly seen in physics labs). She also did the soundtracks for the original “Tron”, “The Shining” and “Brave New World”

I have Hulu and I was going to watch the show and it said it was going to expire in 12 days (well now 11). I can screenshot it and attach s picture if you would like.

That’s so bizarre… I checked two sites’s lists for shows leaving Hulu in June, and Uprising wasn’t on there, unless it doesn’t count on those particular lists since they say by June 30th..?

Well that blows… my husband had just started a Hulu trial for watching some Gundam OVAs and I was going to add Uprising to his list. They really are almost blotting Uprising out from existence, aren’t they…? If it wasn’t for Amazon video (which unfortunately you have to pay per episode), there wouldn’t be an official way to watch the show online anymore.

It’s worth the attempt to tweet @hulu and ask them to save Uprising, although realistically if it’s gone by June 15th that means it’s far too late to do anything to stop it at this point. I would normally say maybe Hulu could re-acquire the rights, but remember that Disney’s own streaming service is on the horizon, so I’m almost certain anything Disney that’s leaving Hulu/Netflix/etc ain’t ever coming back.

On the… possible up-side, this might mean the show will find a new home in Disney’s service, whenever it launches next year. But 2019′s still a ways away….
